  1. I was blessed with a cheerful, always optimistic, happy nature. Some people tsk tsk at me because of it, and accuse me of being immature.... I call it lucky. I KNOW life is only temporary, so why ruin it by being unhappy or sad? :D
  2. I'm 68 now, smoked for 50+ years, a pack a day...at least. I figure I smoked about 300,000 cigarettes in my lifetime. WTH was I thinking? Good grief....
  3. I'm not exactly blessed with a "green thumb", Doreen....I've killed many plants in my lifetime. One of these days, I'll get it right....LOL
  4. Congratulations, baffled! You rock!!! :)
  5. Got the hanging strawberry plant ready...planted cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, onions, and all kinds of herbs and stuff. Then I came inside and checked my e mail...and found this: http://www.buzzfeed.com/alannaokun/insanely-clever-gardening-tricks So I happened to have 2 empty grapefruit shells, went back outside, filled them with dirt and put some seeds in them. Why wouldn't it work? It should.... I love these little tips and tricks. :)
  6. Great post, markus! I agree with you 100%.....smoking is, when you come right down to it, nothing but the self-centered, selfish action of an immature, spoiled brat. I'm glad I finally grew up! :D
  7. Real men DO cry, Juan....so go ahead, it's liberating....bawl away! I went through the same thing, I know what you're saying. I turned into an absolute CHAMPION cryer for MONTHS after I first quit... Still better than smoking, right? :) :D
  8. Oh, ok, I confess....I googled "hairy women's legs", and took the first result that popped up. Here's what happened: http://veryhairylegs.tumblr.com/ Promise not to look, though....it's kinda....ummm...I don't know how to explain it....
  9. Glad to hear it, Running....I'll be scouring the internet looking for recipes... :) How long have you been a vegetarian?
  10. I'll still be eating eggs, I'm sure....and once in a while, maybe some wild caught Alaskan salmon.... I'm going to have to study up on vegetarian nutrition. I don't want to short change myself...I know veggies of any kind, fruits, nuts and seeds, as well as whole grains should be on my list. All the stuff I like, anyway.... Btw yesterday, for the first time in my life, I made and ate spaghetti squash. It seems to be very versatile...I found all kinds of different recipes for it. I made it with sauteed onions, tomatoes, basil, but didn't have black olives or feta cheese. Still, it wasn't bad at all. Seems like it takes on the taste of whatever you mix it with....maybe next time, I'll try the marinara....:-)
  11. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Dreadlocks? Love you, Tiff....xoxoxoxo PS....And NO, those are not MY legs.... :D
  12. I've toyed with the idea for quite a while, and have cut down on my meat consumption considerable in the past few months, especially. I just think it's healthier, and I've got a few issues I think MAY be related to eating meat, especially red meat. Anyway....if there are vegetarians here, I'd love to discuss the pros and cons of it. :-))

    Dear Beth

I'd love to see you here, Beth! C'mon over.... :)
  14. Holski! So proud of you! 6 months is awesome.
  15. You got this, Evelyn! Onward and upward!
  16. 6 months already? Wow...major accomplishment!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
