  1. Good post, Delta...and congratulations on your, this, sticky quit! :-)
  2. and I picked up some Hummus, I don't know exactly why. Garlic Hummus, to be exact. Well I'm happy to say I LOVE it! I put some on flatbread crackers, and scooped some up with red pepper slices, baby carrots, and a tomato. Delicious! Goes to show ya... you should never hesitate to try something new... you might just like it! :-D
  3. What a wonderful post, Babs! You said it well... fantastic! I'm so proud of you!
  4. Yesterday, while driving home, I had one of those sudden craves come out of nowhere. I thought well, who's to stop me if I buy a pack, and smoke just that ONE to satisfy this urge? And of course I knew, without a doubt, that I'd smoke 3 or 4 in the first hour, and then desperately look for a time/place where I could SNEAK SMOKE the rest of the pack. And then buy another pack tomorrow... and another the next day... and so on and so on.... So, I just went home. Smoke free and happy. :-)
  5. Great post, Melody! Your little boy is adorable...:-)

  13. two-hands-firmly-on-the-wheel teeth-grinding, jaw-clenching menace on the road. Today, I had to go see my foot doctor... from where I was, the GPS steered me onto Interstate 295 for TWENTY TWO MILES!!!!! :( Big trucks everywhere... to the left of me, to the right of me, coming at me from behind... a complete and utter nightmare. If I were a smoker, I would've smoked half a pack, minimum! That's what I USED to do.... But... then HOW did I keep both my hands on the steering wheel? I guess I didn't... smoking was more important than safety, obviously. And while I realize that not everyone drives with two hands on the wheel, I DO wonder about the rationalization behind it when you're a dyed-in-the-wool smoker. What was I thinking? As a non smoker, I clench the steering wheel and hang on for dear life. As a smoker, I must've been a dare-devil, huh? Steering with one hand, smoking with the other... :D

  15. Fantastic news, action! Very happy to hear it!
  16. All right, Holski! What's done is done... now get your ass right back in the saddle! This time, hang on with everything you got!
  17. Sometimes it still comes out of left field... but easily kicked to the curb. No problemo, just sort of unexpected.... :-D
  18. Well, that's what that nicodemon made me think, anyway. How stupid does he think I am? Does he really believe I'll fall for his b.s. again? Idiot. AS IF I'll ever stick something in my mouth again, light it on fire, and suck the smoke deep into my lungs.... what a crappy, stupid idea! Makes me wonder why ANYONE would do such a moronic thing... :D
  19. I remember your struggles well, tiff... But here you are. Eureka! You did it, and I'm tremendously proud of you!
  20. Well said, Tiffany! That's exactly what it comes down to... WE are responsible for our quits, and no one else. The board support has helped me tremendously in the early days of my quit, and I'm not sure I would've been able to hang on without it... but still... I'm the one who quit. I'm the one who did it. With lots of help. :-)
  21. Congratulations, Julie! 3 months is fantastic!
  22. Congratulations, Beth! You got a second chance, and you grabbed it. So happy for you!
  23. You rock, El Bandito! Congratulations!
  24. Wonderful, awesome, fantastic! You've been a rock to my own quit, Jen, and I'm so proud of and happy to know you!
  25. Fantastic news, Gemzee!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
