  1. I am so excited!
  2. Yes, I told John that we would produce long term quitters very soon and that many of us love whyquit and that many of us have already posted links to whyquit. I'm certain he is keeping his ear to this board, we are getting too big to ignore don't you think Ladybug?
  3. Thanx Comrade Simba, we have done that including a whole list of other relative words on my personal profile. Feel free to visit my profile to see :)
  4. Hello website or Facebook page owner, welcome to The Quit Train! If you are enjoying our website, would you mind placing the "http://www.quittrain.com" link on your website or Facebook page? Our website is fairly new and we could use the help to get us noticed by the big search engines who follow every link they see.
  5. Just got an email back from John at whyquit.com. He was pleased that we asked to be listed on his site but he reminded me that ours is a new site and we have technically not turned out any long term quitters of our own yet. Yes, we have some newbies but we must turn them into long term quitters first, then John promised to put us on his site. I thought his answer was reasonable, so let's keep our newbies from lapsing, keep their quits and make sure they get to become veterans, old phartes, keeperbees, or just long term quitters some day. :)
  6. You might be right about that, guess we have a chance after all. We are certainly not trying to sell anything around here except maybe some likes ;)
  7. Yes, but I found a secret passage way to an old abandoned corner office. The sign on the door said quarantined or something, maybe I should go back and read it LOL
  8. Sorry Julie, I already got that office, but I don't have a private bathroom LOL
  9. I'll take the entertainment section, I can dance, sing, and play the piano :)
  10. I believe that we qualify for a listing/link on the whyquit website as a free quit smoking support community. I noticed that our old stomping ground is not listed LOL
  11. On your suggestion Ladybug I have opened communications with John Polito at whyquit.com. I asked him to join our site if nothing else, just to look around and see all the wonderfull things we are doing for quitters
  12. Good idea Ladybug, I/we have been thinking about contacting whyquit to ask them to list us. While scanning their site however I did not see a link to any quit smoking forums except their own. There is also a post on whyquit that does not talk favorably about forums in general. Guess it wouldn't hurt for me to talk to John over there, I know he likes cookies :)
  13. This is the title of a Yahoo page listing quit smoking support forums. WE ARE NOT ON IT! There is a "comments" link on the page where I have asked them to list us as well. I'm thinking that if all of you also comment, we might get some action. Sorry Action, we love you too! http://voices.yahoo.com/online-support-groups-people-wanting-quit-smoking-4156525.html?cat=5
  14. I'm posting just one of the many, many toxic chemicals in cigarettes, please feel free to post another. Arsenic: Arsenic and many of its compounds are especially potent poisons. Arsenic disrupts ATP production through several mechanisms. At the level of the citric acid cycle, arsenic inhibits pyruvate dehydrogenase and by competing with phosphate it uncouples oxidative phosphorylation, thus inhibiting energy-linked reduction of NAD+, mitochondrial respiration, and ATP synthesis. Hydrogen peroxide production is also increased, which might form reactive oxygen species and oxidative stress. These metabolic interferences lead to death from multi-system organ failure (see arsenic poisoning) probably from necrotic cell death, not apoptosis. A post mortem reveals brick red colored mucosa, due to severe hemorrhage. Although arsenic causes toxicity, it can also play a protective role (From Wikipedia)
  15. What's an eggbeater?
  16. Is that a riddle?

    TAC?

It's ok down here Nancy, they don't allow cats up stairs in the executive suites and I've got a lot of cats. I'd ask you to help me put in a window down here but I'm underground and all I would see would be bakon's burried easter eggs LOL
  18. It is not as bad as it looks, just watch the whole video through.
  19. You might want to have your taste buds checked out by a physician. LOL
  20. I love this quit smoking support community

  21. What a great idea, a PM SOS signal, brilliant.
  22. Hi Juan, I am a cold turkey quitter too, but when I am confronted with cigarettes I walk away and when I'm alone again I pull out a picture I keep in my wallet of a smokers lung, yuk. That usually does the trick. Otherwise, I'm a newbie as well to quitting smoking, and rely on the support of the veteran members here when I'm feeling myself slip.
  23. cats and dogs or dogs and cats
  24. I guess both are right, sorry, I can only give you one like :)

This is what you should see when we finally see it: Quit Train, a quit smoking support community This is a quit smoking support community for ex-smokers and others wanting to quit smoking, members communicate with each other about nicotine addiction and quitting smoking cigarettes.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
