  3. @Gus so glad to hear you are getting back to normal this evening. I'd like to second that thankfulness for all us newbs making it through. I did struggle a bit but I know mine were all self inflicted wounds. Here's some kudos for you, Kel and Kris.
  4. @KEL so good to read that your cravings are lessening. keep winning.
  5. thanks everybody for all the support over these last 4 months. you folks definitely gave me the assist to get me past the tough times.
  6. @jillar you need a few, fold them up and know where you are going with the pan before you grab it. depending on how hot it's only good for a few seconds.
  7. 7. in place of an oven mitt @jillar it's a guy thing
  8. December 26th, 2021...today is the day the journey to real health starts, and since I was kind of planning to start from the bottom the universe was not going to disappoint. I think I feel worse today than any day since I quit smoking. Every joint in my body is stiff as a board which sucks cause it's a beauty of a day. The sky is crystal clear with no signs of getting sprayed. Temperature is almost 60 degrees and winds are a very light breeze. Here I am barely able to move. But that's ok, that's why I'm here. I'm going to fix that over the next few months. Starting weight is 199.5. I was going to do some other stats but I don't feel it really matters. The mirror will give me all the feedback I need for the exterior and my mood and flexibility will give me the feedback for the interior. Day one begins. The goal: survive it.
  9. @jillarnot tried anything yet. gonna just ride it out for tonight, see where I'm at in the morning and start what has worked before. Gonna be a challenge but let's face it...what the hell else am I gonna do between now and the grave? I want to fill that time up with rounds of golf trading stocks and chasing women and I can't do any of that if i'm gasping for air or morbidly obese. LMAO.

  13. well, christmas has come and almost gone and i really did a number on myself. I actually didn't eat a ton of stuff but what i did eat has me painfully bloated and the crave for a cig is super strong. Thank God my last excuse is now over. All the things that I think I will replace the "enjoyment" of smoking with only make the process 10 times harder, but I told myself I was gonna get rekt for Christmas and now it's over. I'll feel a little better in the morning then it's 5 to 12 days of sacrifice as avoiding the sugar becomes normal and life can go on. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and may we all move into the new year with our quits intact.
  14. @Doreensfree thank you so much for the support. you are an inspiration to me and a lot of others on this board I'm sure. may your holidays be merry and your feet be safe.
  15. I may have posted this before but I found this video to be the most helpful hypnosis video on youtube. I used this one a lot.
  16. @KEL you are welcome and I'm glad you get something from my rambling. And you are correct, quitting is a process and not an event. I wish you the best going through your process. Have a Merry Christmas

  21. do you get the peppercorns or what exactly? I'd like to try this.
  22. if you are panicking try that EFT tapping video. I'm telling you, it will help. there is no magic bullet but that will at least get you through the 5 or 10 minutes of the most intense part of the crave. being on oxygen you might not be able to do the breathing video
  23. @Sal they are hard for everyone but you can do it. I was the whiniest little bitch on this forum when i first quit. Jillar can attest to that. and if i can beat it anybody can. the first thing to do is accept that you want to quit. the addiction will try to convince you otherwise but you know you want to quit or you wouldn't be here. also accept that it will not be easy, but it will be worth it
  24. here is one of the tools in my quit box. it's the goofiest shit I'd ever seen but I swear it works better than anything else i've tried. can't believe i almost forgot about it.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
