Daily exercise log for everyone :)
JustinHoot99 replied to Frezflops's topic in Exercising & Healthy Living
I spent about 500hrs volunteering to help build the thing but have never played, just no interest. But they are great to use for exercise, especially if they are in the woods. I do all kinds of exercises using the course and the woods. -

200 Pushups + 200 situps this morning on the local Disc Golf course. Alternated sets of 20 reps of situps and pushups at each of the 18 baskets. Then did one more set of each just in case some else did the same thing today so I could say I did more. -
Any experience with Intermittent Fasting?

So did you go 4 full 24 hour periods in a row without any food? Just water, tea, or something like that? -

I didn't really taste anything, but maybe I would have if I ever switched brands. The only time I tasted something is if I really licked my lips right after a cigarette. You would lick that tar and could really taste it and boy was it nasty.

I trail run/jog. My slow speed is just cause I suck at running/jogging. I'm good at neither speed nor distance. But I'm might borrow your reason sometime. lol -
I don't think an addict ever stops having cravings. Less often as time goes on, but I've read profiles of people who gave in to a craving after 5 and even 10 years. But you managed to stop yourself even under the influence of alcohol. That's a huge success.

Probably right. I've been eye balling the 30 day mark for the last 3 days. My subconscious is getting panicky and pulling out all the stops. Thats more me! Plus it's Star Trek related and everyone know that makes it twice as cool. It's actually what I sometimes want to say to people, but I know not everyone responds to the same inputs as I do. -

I actually have read it. What I really need is a drill sergeant to B slap me upside the head and tell me to quit whining. "Are you freakin nuts? You got more red "didn't smoke" X's than anytime since your 20's and you are thinking of blowing it? Is there a gun to your head, are you being water boarded, being tortured in any way? If not, I suggest you think this through. Think about the $4000 that one cigarette will cost and the 7000 you will be required to smoke cause you know you have never summoned the courage and strength to try again in less than 1 year." -

Thanks, I just hope I make it through the day. The last 3 days have been a bear for me the first half of the day. The thought of what it would feel like to light up just keeps popping into my head. I swat them away as quickly as possible. Been using the my visualization, focusing on the $4000 it would cost me and the 7000 more I would smoke, reading my prewritten ressponse, taking walks, etc but the dang thought keeps coming back. Today is probably the worst day since I quit. Subconscious keeps say "just today" which is obviously BS. Only fell for that like every time before. Thats a nice sign. I shall keep pushing as I enter no mans land. -
Having some tough cravings this morning, so I thought I'd get on here to distract myself and talk about my favorite topic: Exercise. Many people wonder what to start with, should they join a gym, what's appropriate for their age, etc. You are blessed to have my wisdom here, as I would argue that I know what the single best exercise for everyone is regardless of age, condition, or ability. It's my rule #1 when it comes to exercise. Exercise Rule #1: The #1 best exercise for everyone is "the one they either like enough, or dislike so little, that they keep doing it". Any exercise that you are unwilling to keep doing will provide no benefit no matter how well planned or applicable it is for your needs. For years I would lift wts in a gym 3-4 months a year, get burnt out, then do nothing for about 9 months. I once liked working out in a gym, but it no longer appealed to me. So I kept quitting and restarting. What finally got me exercising consistently was to find something I enjoyed (and I now haven't missed a day of exercise in 3.5yrs). For me, that meant doing my workouts in the woods on a trail where I jog, do body wt exercises, lift and flip logs, throw large rocks, etc (and imagine I'm some kind of 60yr old Spartan). The point is, if you find something you like, you are much more likely to do it consistently. And consistency is the most important requirement of any exercise plan. If you are doing something you dread doing, you need to look for something else or you will eventually quit.
