  1. Merry Christmas! And best wishes for a fast, safe recovery, Karen
  2. Ooh Beacon, what fun! Nope.
  3. Been there, done that. Ugh!
  4. I think that is a great idea, Ross! I would change my ticker, but I missed the instructions at some point
  5. Hip hip hooray!
  6. Kudos, Marti! If I ever get back to my vacation, I will get started on the walking......Waif like sounds good. H reminded me yesterday that Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes go straight from can to bum. Hate it when he is right.....
  7. Have a wonderful time, and I too want lots of pics! Karen
  8. Thank you all again. I hope what Marti says is true, because she is right, I don't feel very strong at all. Still want to punch Sarge sometimes, and my H who was also a Sarge at one time
  9. Wow, sorry to be late to the party! 5 months is incredible! And inspirational, too!!
  10. Wow, that is wonderful!! As DD said, the two hardest weeks done. You go, girl! Karen
  11. Thank you all so much, for the congrats now and the encouragement all along the way. Yes, it is gardening weather, but I am at work due to staff being sick :( Oh well, I got a good report from the periodontist this morning on my gum surgery, so I guess that is my present for the day - I'll take it!! K
  12. Way too early, nope!
  13. I always had very long hair, wore it In a bun ( think librarian). All dark brown. Cut it a year ago to shoulder length and whoops, hello silver streaks for the center part! I like it though! But it is a big change.
  14. Happy Birthday, hope it is a lovely day for you! Karen
  15. Be warned, you will probably have triggers, maybe quite a few. I find taking deep, deep breaths helps. Then try to shift your focus to your errands, the sunlight, the beautiful day that smells good. etc. And saying or even yelling nope ;) I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the best, Karen
  16. Wonderful, I am following in your footsteps!
  17. Librarian and expert Google searcher. Fairly girly, clothes-wise, but love to get dirt under my fingernails and able to help clean fish, ducks, geese and deer. Would garden from dawn to dusk, if possible. Love dogs and cats, but only have a cat right now. The pain of losing the last dog was too much to contemplate another, even 7 years later. No children. No religion, lapsed Catholic, like DD, probably due to Catholic schools. Most people think I am sweet and kind. The gloves can come off, though, when necessary. I have gone through the fire and survived.
  18. Late, but nope!
  19. Lovely, Evelyn! I agree, Boris's coloring is very unusual. Do they get along well together? Do you let them run free about the house?
  20. Massive hugs and good thoughts coming to both of you, Love, Karen
  21. Okay, I am in as well. I need to lose a few pounds and get a lot more limber. Can't run as knees won't take it but have started walking and will start an exercise routine.
  22. Oh Nat, I echo the counseling, it could be a BIG help. ((((((Hugs)))))) Karen

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
