  10. This is an outrage! That it, that's all I've got............ I got nothin....
  11. Gabby, I would say that your time getting educated about nicotine addiction has had an effect since you did not smoke. We'll always be addicts needing to guard our quits because our lives depend on it. It always amazes me how our minds remember smoking as such a rewarding experience when it wasn't. What was rewarding about not being present for those we love because we had to smoke? I remember craving a cigarette before I had even put out the one I was smoking. It wasn't really helping....I just foolishly believed it would. I think what has happened will make you stronger in your quit. The more you walk away the more automatic it becomes. Good work Gabs. You got this kid!
  12. I meant to post this at 30 months but I missed it. I'm a couple days late now too! Better late than never right! Thanks for the inspiration! You have been such a strong support to so many here and we are so blessed to have our Babbles!
  13. I felt the same way you do. For me, and I think most, it's a very gradual process. So gradual it can be easy to miss the improvements. I remember at one point, maybe 6-7 months in that I had the realization that I was not thinking of smoking so much. I was starting to have long gaps of time where I didn't think of it at all and that was such a relief. It's exhausting in the early months constantly having smoking in your thoughts. It's impossible to say when the time will come that you are feeling like you've turned the corner in your quit but I can promise you that it will happen. You are doing wonderfully thus far. Excellent work!
  14. Now there's a bit of medical advice I don't mind taking. :)

  16. Welcome to the QT Julie and congrats on your decision to quit smoking! Take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll have weeks under your belt. The key is to make a decision to not smoke no matter what. Come here and talk to us if you feel you may relapse. Take a run or do something else to distract yourself, but don't smoke. It takes time for you mind and mind to heal from this addiction but I can promise you that when you get to the other side the only regret you'll have is that you didn't do it sooner.
  17. Ha! I was just talking about this with someone the other day. I have no interest either. I guess I'm looking for more of a plot than porn! lol
  18. Excellent post!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
