  1. I love the smells of spring and cannot wait! I'll be doing a small garden for the first time this year and I am so looking forward to getting started!
  2. Perhaps the chickens ran off with the Turkeys? I want to go to the farms and Bars place. That looks nice.
  3. What! Boating accidents my ass! The lakes are frozen 9 months of the year!!
  4. Awww. So glad you were able to shake it off in the numbers game. :) xx We love our little Ginger as a Non smoker.
  5. Yes, this is quite true. It certainly takes time for that "normal" feeling to settle in and when it happens is different for everyone. I remember thinking I just wanted to get to a point where I didn't constantly have to try to NOT think of smoking or quitting and just live my life again. The mental part of quitting is so tiring! Now that I have my "new normal" I've found that it is really my "old" normal! The normal I had before I smoked and it's a pretty darn nice place to be. Keep it moving! It will happen for you too but a watched pot never boils. I can see you've realized that already. Exercise is a great way to keep your mind free of the junkie clutter and also to combat the weight gain that plagues some of us. If I could do it again I would exercise right from the beginning. You're doing so well! Very insightful. :)
  6. I think Lace maybe should introduce herself since there is so much confusion on her name...lol
  7. Welcome back! You've been missed.

  9. Sadly I started eating....I'm working on stopping that now. :) I'm looking forward to spring when I can get out and walk again in the fresh air!
  10. Good to hear from you Michelle, sorry you're having such a crappy time of it. It does get better, promise. In the meantime distract yourself and know that it's not physical what you are feeling. It's all a mental game, nothing more. Dig your heals in and fight! You can do this!
  11. Good job getting back on the train. You need to get to a place where you understand that smoking does nothing for you. It doesn't calm you down, help you celebrate or hold your hand. Your addict mind makes you think it does but it doesn't. The only way to be successful at this is to never ever take another puff. No matter what. As the others have said, you choose to smoke or you choose not to. I hope you decide to choose not to smoke from this point forward. Quitting sucks at times in the beginning but I can promise you that down the road you will truly appreciate what we are saying to you now. Freedom is yours if you want it. Let's get it done! We'll be there with you every step.
  12. Yup, I would do anything to bitch about the heat again.
  13. Keep up the exercise. It helps.
  14. No need at all to apologize! If something hits you a certain way you have the right to post about it the same as the rest. :) Your quit is looking wonderful on you cpk.
  15. I agree there are social smokers.....I've known at least two of them. They pick up a cigarette here and there and never think of it between. That's a whole different kind of smoking than what I did.\ The fact that Joel has never smoked has never mattered to me. A Psychiatrist may not be insane but it does not hinder her ability to diagnose and treat someone who is. There are many times in life when the specialist is not someone who has walked in our shoes. As long as the treatment is effective what difference does it make?
  16. I have no idea why you are questioning if stuffing should make it to the table. Have you hit your head again?
  17. B) Here, thanks for looking for me. xx
  18. Awww, thank you sweet peeps!
  19. :D Love me some Lace---Congratulations!
  20. You made me nervous! I took your title to mean you changed it because you had relapsed! So happy you are still a quitter. That quit looks wonderful on you!

  22. Welcome to the QT Michelle! It's very hard at times in the beginning of the journey but it is so worth it! Use the forum and anything else you can think of to distract yourself when you have weak moments. I know for me, I made a promise that I would not smoke no matter how bad it got and I stuck to it. There were times I could barely get out of bed, but i kept moving forward. You have to go through some discomfort to get to the other side but I can promise you that it gets so much better! You're going to love it here!
  23. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. ;)
  24. How are you doing today Kristin? I hope you are well. I am so pleased you posted here last night when you were feeling frustrated. Please use this forum to vent as much as you need. Venting is part of the process. xx

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
