  4. :D Congrats Paul! Miss you tons and tons!!!
  5. What you describe is very familiar to most here. I promise you it gets better. So much better. There will come a time when you won't be able to imagine that you were once a slave to cigarettes. Time is your friend. Time and the QT! Just remember that smoking doesn't help anything. It never did and the most amazing part of this journey is finding out that you don't need that crutch to live your life. xx
  6. I "saw" her on FB. She said she is just enjoying the summer with her kiddos but will be back soon.
  7. YAY! Wonderful to hear you are ready to be a quitter! You can do this. If I could anyone can. Welcome aboard!
  8. Welcome Kendra! Sounds like your almost through Hell week (the first week quit) and that is fantastic! Cut yourself some slack right now when it comes to your emotions. I cried for weeks and I'm not a crier at all. It will pass and slowly you will begin to feel like yourself again. I look forward to watching your journey!
  9. Awesome! 3 years ROCKS!
  10. :D awesome post!
  11. YAY! Congrats!
  12. Happy one year!!!! woot woot!!
  13. Dear Quitter, You relapsed, now what? Identify the reasons you chose to smoke and take responsibility for the fact that you chose to smoke. It's not because you had a stressful day and it's not because you are not capable of quitting. YOU are in control of if you smoke or not. YOU call the shots and you wanted to smoke so you did. You are just as capable of quitting as anyone else you just have to decide to not smoke again no matter what. NO MATTER WHAT. Stop torturing yourself with starts and stops. Get back on the TRAIN!
  14. Sorry to be late with this poll! Love you all and so proud of you!!! xx
  15. Congrats on 3 years Babs! We love ya!
  16. Without this place I would never have quit smoking. For more than 20 years I dedicated myself to cigarettes. It was a sad way to live. Now I'm dedicated to this board and the people who come here because everyone deserves to be free and those who traveled the road to freedom first are an inspiration to those just beginning their journey. xx
  17. You can't leave, it's just we don't want everyone to know that... ;)

    sos

Is this a true SOS or just an opportunity to continue the conversation from another thread and inappropriately shame a staff member here?

    What type

Favorite thing: Being at the lake on a warm sunny day. Attractive Quality.type: Sense of humor, caring and strong but also a little mysterious.
  23. Excellent post! It is so much easier to navigate life free of an addiction that calls you out every 20 minutes. I truly thought it could not be done and I would be miserable if I even tried. Now 3 years later I cannot imagine that I ever spent that much time and energy feeding the monster.
  24. :good3: Here!!!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
