  4. holy crap! At least he'll have power in jail...hehehe I kinda get it though....I have a auto generator so when the power goes out, and it does frequently, the generator kicks in and life goes on. I'm in the country so it takes a while for repair crews to get to me. The last storm we had the power went out and....stayed out. Myself and my two teenage daughters were the only ones home. It took 20 minutes for the generator to kick in (still no clue why the delay) and during that time we were freaking out! hahaha I even called the hubs at work about it. I have no shame.
  5. Welcome to the QT Doug, Quitting is not really as hard as you think and I can guarantee you'll see improvement in your breathing. I had shortness of breath, pneumonia several times a year, CPAP before I was 40....None of that is true now. I've even learned to like the gym! The thing about waiting for the perfect time to quit is that the perfect time never comes. You're the only one who can decide when you're ready. Do some reading here about the addiction and coping strategies folks have used to combat anxiety etc.... Great to have you here with us.
  6. Congratulations Lin! Your first smoke free year is now a blast from the past! Welcome to the club! I'm thrilled to be able to celebrate with you and also so very happy that you also have your old friends here to help you celebrate as well.
  7. I'm feeling you. You're in New York so must be the same storm. Good luck! I hate the rodent and his predictions! Plus he needs to whiten his teeth in the worst way. Why is there so much suffering in this world... See above comment. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts. oh my! Yes, we have had quite a few floods nation wide this year. Flooding is terrible. Much more destructive than snow. Indeed it does. lol, this is true, but we are planning on moving to warmer climates once my youngest graduates from High School. We're thinking about Texas or maybe New Mexico. They have some colder months but not the snow we get in Maine and the cold season is much much shorter. I'm ready to risk those other things to have a better quality of life by not being trapped inside 6 plus months a year. It's just too much.
  8. It's MARCH and still the fricken snow keeps coming. I was lulled into a false sense of security after we hit 40 degrees two days in a row. No spring yet! Damn!

  11. 2 months is fantastic! Good work!
  12. Not sure why you can't delete it but let me know if you want me to delete yours as well. I'm looking into why they wouldn't delete for you. Might be members don't have rights to delete from the public gallery. Not sure but if I find out I'll post it here. Passing on your topic suggestion as well. Pics are all gone.
  13. Hi Beazel, I can delete those pics if you would like. Then you can upload them with the private settings on. Let me know if you need help with how to set your pics to private when you upload them. I don't see a way to make them private once they go to the public forum. Blogs can be private too. When you create a new blog you are asked if you want to share with all or just a select few. Choose the option that you want to choose who sees it and then put your user name as the only one who can see it.
  14. When I am on my laptop tomorrow I'm going to look around at the pics, deleting and making private. My phone just isn't cutting it. Lol. Checking on privacy of blogs as well. No one's ever asked!
  15. Hi there, just noticing this. To answer your questions yes, all celebrations go in the celebration forum regardless of the time quit. You are of course welcome to post one anywhere. I'll find out about the picture privacy. I've never put any here so not sure. I'll get back on that one. With the Easter holiday coming, I'm not surprised people are following you...

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
