    Now I'll always wonder. .....
  2. I imagine there are some who never have this experience and that's ok too. Just so long as everyone is quit & is able to maintain that it shouldn't matter at all. I'm an incredibly stubborn person so I imagine that has played into why this has been my experience. Some folks are probably more open to it from the get go! My stubborn personality gets in my way quite a bit. Currently I am fighting with myself regarding weight loss. When it comes to food it would do me well to remember to take what I need and leave the rest!! lol
  3. In the months after I first quit smoking I was told this frequently by a fellow quitter who is no longer with us. (((Skip))). In all honesty, it irritated me every time he said it! As I approach my 2 year anniversary I realize how much has changed in my thinking regarding the quit and all the different advice being offered. The truth is that when Skip said to take what you need and leave the rest he was right! Just because I don't personally find something to be helpful does not mean everyone feels that way. I see things posted all the time that I cannot relate to but I (now) know it's ok because if the OP had that experience then it is likely someone else has as well. If that post helps just one person to quit, then I am all for it! I guess what I am saying is that I appreciate the diversity of this board and the quitters here and I hope it is always that way because that is what will be most helpful to everyone who comes here to quit. A little bit of everything. Something else I am going to confess too.... I agree with Jonny and the Sarge :o . Quitting is easy peasy. All you have to do is NOT SMOKE. wait....has hell frozen over? :P I love you all my fellow quitters and all you bring to the table!
  4. Awesome post Babs! My biggest fear was the withdrawl for years until I realized I experienced it all day long as a smoker.
  5. Awww, Amy. I'm glad you came back here. You are right in that an SOS would not have worked if you were set to smoke. It helps in these situations I think to try and think of what it was about today or the last few days that made smoking seem like something you wanted to do. Knowing that answer can help in this new quit. Amy, you are not a loser. You're an addict. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Pick yourself up and carry on one day or even one minute at a time if you have to. You got this!! I know you can do it because I did and I am such a wimp!!
  6. Welcome Laura! Glad to have you here with us. Read all you can and please let us know if you need anything.

  11. You could even have a flower box.
  12. Take pics of yours once you move in and get set up! I've lived in some older and cramped spaces and it is all in the decorating which you can do on a budget with imagination. The cats will love the big windows to sun themselves. :)

  20. Love this post Colleen! It's is important for us to remember where we came from. I had several of those conditions and they have either improved significantly or are gone all together.

I love it! We are the best dang Quit smoking board ever!!
  22. (((((Ross)))))) that's a lot to deal with :( I agree with Colleen, stay away from searching your symptoms online. I have had myself dying more than once doing that. There is no way to know what the results will be but I can tell you that we have your back buddy. I'll be sending prayers up for you. I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight. Whatever it is, we'll handle it together. xoxo
  23. Do or do not. There is no try. ~Yoda

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
