  1. I thought about that a lot in the beginning. The truth is though, there are no guarantees in life at all, even for people who never smoked. If my time comes earlier than expected I will at least know I did all I could.

  6. LOL! This is too funny. I think we should thank Chrispy in his efforts to prevent chaos by posting his own image. He's a true humanitarian. Look what happened with Bakon and he is an emoticon!!

  11. ((((hugs HM))))) It happens to us all and when it does I hate it too. You are such a happy and positive person. Try to shake things up or do something you really enjoy.
  12. I don't think I realized you had read allen Carr's book to aid your quit. I didn't even know of that book when I quit but it seems to have helped so many. Agree we brainwash ourselves as smokers. When I first quit I felt I was missing out and was only half heartedy in it. I felt if it got to much I could just go back to smoking. It was through education on this board that I realized I could control it all with a better attitude and a true committment to never take another puff. No going back. I do not believe I would have made it had I not changed my outlook.
  13. I gained an crazy amount of weight. I'm not sure I could have controlled my eating in the early days but I should have countered it with being more active. Live and learn right! If you're a newbie reading this I would def advise exercise while quitting. It will help to stabilize your weight and helps with craves too!
  14. WOW, amazing you were able to keep that inside for 30 years! None of us are perfect Dors. We are works in progress and we have our successes and our failures. Don't spend time being sad about what was. IMO you should always look to the future as that is where you can have some impact.
  15. lovely to see this! Cannot imagine this place without you! Almost half way there! You are rocking this quit!!
  16. OMG! I cannot believe it's been 9 months already!! Time goes by so quickly. You have done so wonderfully in your quit and supporting others. You count pretty well too. ;) Keep it up! Waiting for you on the lido deck!
  17. That's a great article. I've not read it before but have read other articles where it was stated that cold turkey is the fastest way to feeling better. It makes complete sense that it would be.
  18. Woot Woot!
  19. Way to go!! You can do this!
  20. Here a six pack for ya Jenzzz. Almost to the lido!!
  21. LOL, Trousers!! That's what I meant to say. hehehe As opposed to the skirt Bakon keeps mentioning.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
