lol @ action! I was thinking the same thing. Those are wonderful pics Sharon! Thanks for sharing. I love to see pics from places I've never seen. We don't have huts like that where I am. If you want to rent or buy on the ocean you need lots and lots of $$$$. I love how you have decorated it!

I'm so sorry I wasn't here when you posted this. I can see many other wonderful folks were though! Tiff, you are far from pathetic. You are one of the strongest people I've met here. What you're experiencing is part of the quit for most of us and it sucks. What helped me in those moments was doing exactly what you did! I would change my day around so that I could keep busy or distract myself from how I was feeling. You got this! Let us know how you're doing when you can. xoxo

In Maine we cannot smoke in any public outdoor or indoor public places. It's been that way for quite some time now here. We also pay a 4 plus dollar tax on each pack of cigarettes. Being a smoker in Maine is very difficult and expensive! The hospital I work in has a no smoking policy for employees. You can't smoke on the grounds at all. Not even in your car. The property is so big you also cannot get off it and back in time while on break. If you come in smelling like smoke you get written up for it and sent home to shower and change. A lot of smokers quit when this policy went into effect. Fortunately, I was quit already. I wonder if I would have left my job in order to smoke?! Perhaps...

So good to hear from you Amy! I completely understand what you are saying and I have even experienced those feelings and thoughts myself. The truth is though, that you don't have the option any longer of not thinking about what smoking is doing to you. You have too much information now. You know there is a forum in which to get support. You know that while it may not have been the best feeling as the nicotine left your system , it wasn't as bad as you've imagined it would be either. So the question is not if you'll quit , but when? To me since you're going to quit anyway you might as well do it now. It's too late to go back to the cocoon, you're a butterfly! xoxo

That is wonderful news! Congratulations on that and being 6 days smoke free!! I am always impressed when someone passes their road test the first time. I failed 3 times before I got it. I was terribly shy and the man who gave the test yelled at me the first time. Made me cry and it is incredibly hard to drive when one is crying hysterically. From that point on each time I was scheduled to take the test again the moment I saw that man walk toward my car I would burst into tears. I think he finally gave it to me so he would not have to keep dealing with me anymore!

I can understand why you would be worried and there is no way to not worry, but I can tell you that everyone I have ever known who went through military training has benefited from it in a huge way. The military will teach him responsibility, honor, strength etc....There are few things as noble as protecting ones country. He will also gain likelong skills, a career and have wonderful benefits towards college should he decided to do that in the future. What he won't get is services at the VA should he ever need it. lol---Think VA scandal!

So very sorry Cher, I know how much you love that dog. It's so very hard to lose a beloved pet as they are one of the family. Big hugs!

What you're experiencing is perfectly normal, as Marti demonstrated with her post. There will be more days like that to come, but sunny days too. I faked it until I made it for a long time. I even remember some who quit at the same time seemed to be "over it" before I was. I carried on, faking it, until the day came that I realized I was not faking it any longer. In fact, I had not even thought of smoking in a long time. It happens for all of us. Some sooner and some later but always to everyone. In the meantime, take smoking off the table. Acknowledge how you feel, scream and yell even, but do not smoke. It's the only way. You must remove the nicotine from your system and retrain your body and mind. You can do this Susana! You don't give yourself enough credit. You are a warrior! Put your battle face on girl!!!
