  2. Hugs Tiff! I hope you don't really go anywhere. I think it's important to have at least a leg in the forum for your first year. For me I struggled with the loss of the ritual of smoking as much as I did the physical part. I consider myself a nicotine addict. I guess the way I define that for myself is that if I would have a stent placed in my 30's and still continue to smoke....I'm an addict. If I cannot have just one cigarette, because one would never be enough, I'm an addict. I think you can quit without a forum or a group. People do it all the time. I just think the odds are better if you have the accountability to someone. Besides, some of the nicest people I have ever met are right here. :) I agree it does suck to be addicted to anything. I have times when I so wish I had never allowed that to happen, but I can't go back. If you give it enough time you do go on with your life and thinking about smoking is not a daily or even weekly event. Promise.
  3. What do you mean fish can't go?!
  4. So happy for you Paul! You have been such an inspiration to others in how you've handled this quit PLUS you are tons of fun to count with!! Here's a little video I took at your party earlier! http://www.jibjab.com/view/hvgAJm7YQqKGwhZGR7RTvw?utm_campaign=URL+Copy&utm_content=celebration_edf_group&utm_medium=Share&utm_source=JibJab&cmpid=jj_url
  5. Great post! I too never realized how much I hid behind my smoking. Even though it's uncomfortable at times to live this life without a crutch I am so happy I quit. When I smoked I always felt inadequate. I knew that I was not giving what I should be to anyone or anything.....because my smoking came first. I even put it before playing with my own children at times. I would rather be uncomfortable getting used to this new life, than be that person any day of the week.
  6. Sorry Paul, I had to do it! It is after all only ONE DAY from one year!!!!!!!! EDITED to add that I do not check my facts in any way before making these polls. I rely only on my own warped sense of reality. :)

  13. Prep Time 1 hour Cook Time 1 hour These sparkly snowball cake pops are for eating, not throwing. by Kelly Delanty What you'll needBaked cake (your favorite box mix) 1 Can of frosting White colored sugar sprinkles White candy coating (2-3 bags) Lollipop sticks Brick of Styrofoam Parchment lined baking sheet Helpful Tip:If you find your candy coating too thick, stir in a 1/2 teaspoon of vegetable oil to thin it. How to make it Bake your cake according to the box instructions and set aside to cool completely. Prep your sprinkles by putting them into a small bowl or plate. Crumble the cake finely into a bowl. Discard any hard edging of the cake that does not crumble neatly. Spoon in ½ - ¾ the can of frosting and use your hands to mix the frosting thoroughly into the cake. Using your hands, scoop out a small portion of cake and roll it into a ball and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. Once all the cake is shaped, place the cookie sheet into the freezer for 15 minutes. After that time, transfer to the refrigerator. Once the 15 minutes is up, pour the white candy coating into a microwave safe bowl and microwave at 50% for 40-second intervals. Stir after each 40-second interval, being careful to not over heat the candy coating. When there are only a few lumps left, stir the coating until it is melted and smooth. Remove 3 or 4 cakes from the refrigerator at a time to dip. Dip the end of a lollipop stick into the coating, then insert into the bottom of the cake. Now, dip the pop into the coating, submerging the cake completely. Do not swirl the cake pop or the cake will come apart into the bowl. Let any extra coating drip back into the bowl. Before the candy coating dries, sprinkle white colored sugar sprinkles all over the cake pop. Set the stick end into the Styrofoam to dry. Repeat until all the cake pops are dipped and decorated.

Aww, I'm sorry. Nothing is wrong with you. Sadly, there are men and women out there who behave this way but there are also some really good people in this world and I have no doubt you will find one.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
