Yes!!!! the Long Long trailer is one of my favorites. My husband used to tease me because everywhere we went I had to bring something back. Also love Yours, Mine and Ours. What about Doris day in With Six You Get Eggrolls and Please Don't Eat the Daisys I never had a friend who liked to watch old movies. Something I would do with my Mom, she passed at 90 years old but till the end liked to do this. K

Has anyone told you yet that you are an amazing, kind hearted and helpful person. I don't really know you, we will most likely never meet but I think this applies past this board. I hope this gives you pride and joy to know how many people you help everyday. You make a difference in the world! K

No they can't, but they can be used for search and seizure of any tobacco product in your possession. Then you will taken promptly to the pizza joint take over location in your area for the duration of the weekend. You will then be released to a responsible adult that will assure you are not allowed to have permanent residence in a bowling alley. K

Right !Just what you said,(I STILL TALK TO MUCH) I may not understand but as long as it gets you to participate and get the help you need. That is the most important thing, if you use the site you will find the support and info you need to QUIT. K

I am so happy I finally am getting it but I still think we should take over a pizza joint. Let's wait for the weekend, our curfew will be later! K 1

Katgirl, I am still trying to understand the badge thing to. I think as jillar explained it is some kind of incentive to participate. I don't know may be the company that owns or runs the sight can see from the so called back door how many people view but don't post. I do not understand, why that is important. If people need help and support they will post. I will say that people might see the badges and feel better about talking to people that have them thinking that they are more experienced. Makes no sense to me, I have badges and I don't have any experience on this board except being lucky enough that the members have been willing to take me in, give support and advice. The way I see it is we are all after the same thing to quit smoking, regain our health and our life. K

Where I come from I may be planning a bank robbery, a diamond heist or the take over of a pizza joint. Let's go with the third. I hope it means that I am being supportive and wish the best for all of you because you have given the best to me. Thanks Kris

Katgirl, I am soooooo jealous of you. I only have one child and one grandchild with everything you have going on I am surprised you can even take a breath. I know you won't waste any more of those on cigarettes. You will use them to help your grandchildren blow out birthday candles. K

Great job Robbie, I am only 11 days in to the quit and I am thrilled with myself. Ask anyone on the board,, I am having some severe struggles but I am going to do this and so are you. See I had to back up and start typing again, I was going to type IF I get to 80 days but I am not an IF, I am a when. So WE are going to do this as long as it takes! K

Introduction: Back to patch after 2 1/2 months nicotine free
Kris replied to Julia's topic in Introductions & About Us
Julia, I am so sorry you are going thru this after 2 1/2 months with your quit. I am only in 11 days, I am using a NRT, lozenges. I thought these would do better than the patch, it felt I might have more control over my step down. I have already started and find I can go 4 or 5 hours. What I am doing is putting the lozenge in my mouth, setting the kitchen timer of 2 minutes and then I take it out and put it on a saucer. When I get anxious couple to few hours later, repeat the procedure. I feel this is working pretty good for me so far. I do get very agitated at times. I suffer from depression anyway so was already on medication. I do not know your situation but if you are new to antidepressants if can take a few times (different medications that agree and work for you) you might just need a different med or adjustment in dosage. I will say I have encountered kick back from my insurance carrier because they don't want to keep paying for different meds till you find the right one. I am sorry but sounds like the Doc does not want to battle them to help you find the right med. It also sounds like the patch might not be the right NRT for you. Keep researching, if you feel the Doc is not paying attention or does not want to help, you may have to fight the insurance or consider changing Docs. It is like non-smokers have no idea how painful and difficult it is for us to quit. That angers me most of all. Don't judge us when you have no f........... idea. K -

I must agree Mee, McClinctock also one of my favorites. I was told that John Wayne had certain actors that he liked to work with. You will see some of these people again and again in his movies. Maureen O'Hara was one of his favorites and a K close friend as well. I do enjoy old movies all all types as well and enjoy watching TCM (Turner Classic Movies) I would think this channel would be available all over the country. I find that the dramas and mystery movies out perform a lot of what is out there today. It is nice to watch things that do not involve a lot of crap that is not needed, they focus on the story line and the actors performance.. and most of all leave out the loud interfering music. (I suffer from migraines). K

Boo, Sorry my dogs went wild at the end of our talk. Tombstone....favorite character Val Kilmer..Doc...I would just hate it yo""r weren't my friend anymore""...."I'll be your huckleberry".....Kate (I think that was her name) "your not wearing your bustle" and least that is how I think it goes. My husband was the one with video memory.
I like the young guns movies as well but have not had even viewings to even try to give you any lines.

Kate18, I am so very sorry for your loss, we all experience grief in a different way and know I am learning that we do the same when we find the strength to quit. With out the people here I think I would have already failed, I am so grateful they tolerate the crazy me. K

Jillar, I don't know if group therapy exists for this either, but I did do group for anxiety about 30 years ago and it did help. I may just have to work one on one. unless some of you or me fly some where and start our own. Hey D2, I already have that covered. The next door neighbors already bring me things now, brisket, blueberry muffins, chicken salad etc K

Dear Boo, You have much to teach me Obi-wan. I am not really into the spaghetti westerns, but I will watch those. I don't really know about the directors, I just know what I like. I like all the John Wayne movies you listed plus Big Jake (my son is named Jacob), ( I think this is the one where he had the dog named dog and would kill every mothers son if his grandson was hurt) (now the way you would do if anyone hurts your baby girl), and everyone thought he was dead....."not hardly." The Shootist with Ron Howard in my opinion was great. In real life knowing the end was near and doing this role. I am also very fond of The Cowboys, a movie all boys should watch to learn about hard work, team work, honesty and bravery and respect. if you have not seen The Quiet Man please get it or I can send you my copy...a great rom-com. K I

Dear Abby, I am still confused about the "stinking badges" and I am more than happy to let Jillar and Doreen to keep on keeping on with their thing. I can confirm that D2 is good at conversation and I did get my bread to the neighbors today. I will try to stay up all night and play if you three want to but I have an early morning visit to the doctor. Are ya'll just funning me? If you are I will torture you when I learn the rules. K
-
Hi Jillar and Doreen, I went to start watching all the documentaries and such but I am having sound issues with my PC. Called my son and he will come over and take a look. Maybe a few days. In the meanwhile I have called my GP and have an appointment to go in on Friday, to discuss other things that might help including group therapy. Just want to you all to know you have been great with advice and support. I just think it would be good to join a group that I can talk with in person. I wish you were all close to me geographically and we could meet for coffee, lunch, dinner or anything. I will continue to be a member of the board. K

back to the rollercoaster or surfing the wave
Kris replied to Kris's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Thanks for our help Doreen ,I just posted that I think I need some in person group therapy. Has anyone done this? K -
I think I will stop the acupuncture after tomorrow because I don't think it really helps. I will go into see the GP and get a referral to a therapist to help me work thru this. you all are great and if we could get together face to face it would be great. I think some in person group therapy might be helpful. K

Not a smoking issue, feet, ankles and lower leg swelling
Kris replied to Kris's topic in The S.O.S. Board
I have both, have plenty of healthy options. Just making the wrong choices. somehow I am losing any good sense when it comes to everything except the smoking. I am willing to go to hell and back stop. K -
back to the rollercoaster or surfing the wave
Kris replied to Kris's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Thanks Jillar, I read the post you suggested and Babs is right. I don't know how someone so young could have the insight into this when I have smoked longer than she has been alive. I will keep reading it over and over. It feels like my brain is broken because I know all these things but I can't make it stop. In fact I still am finding things more difficult than the day I quit. Here nor there I do not have a choice but to grin and growl and bear, so I will. K -
Not a smoking issue, feet, ankles and lower leg swelling
Kris replied to Kris's topic in The S.O.S. Board
could be, I now have stock in Frito Lay and Walmart. I have Walmart Kettle chips which I found better than the Lays brand and only $1.33 a bag. When you are on your own you have to be frugal where you can. Back to the list...frito scoops, tosito scoops, nacho cheese doritos, mixed nuts, walnuts and almonds. All salt heavy. I am so ashamed of my weakness and I am snacking on all these things but at least I am not smoking. K Ps going to take a break and cry -
I thought I was doing a little better but for the last couple of hours,, my brain is sending the signal that I need to take a break and have a smoke. What the hell is the psychology of this nightmare? In control one minute and losing your mind the next, gonna break and have another nicotine lozenge. I have not watched any of the videos yet. Do they explain what is happening to us, if not, is any one out there a psychiatrist that can explain this. I swear at this point I just want to be put into a medically induced coma until this crap is over. I mean really how much strength do we have to have. Sorry, I have fallen into the black hole of anger again. I have to go back and read these things before I hit the button because my brain is telling me one thing and my fingers are typing something else, you do not want to know. K (the hulk)

I bet many of you know where that phrase comes from. Any way, between all of you and the TV, I have been able to avoid any murder charges or have animal services show up to take custody of my fur children . Does anyone else like old movies, spent the day yesterday with Andy Hardy. Also enjoy westerns, anything John Wayne, Lonesome Dove, Dead Mans Walk etc. Alfred Hitchcock...Jimmy Stewart, Lucille Ball, Doris Day, Elizabeth Taylor. The first one I would like to submit is The Quiet Man, John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Not a western but a great movie by these two. Send me your favorites so I can have at the ready. K
