TOOTH WHITENING PASTES - Any experience w/ these
Kris replied to JustinHoot99's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Justin, I must say that the toothpaste that I have been testing has seemed to be helping. Mind you I am a long time smoker and I drink a lot of hot tea in the winter. I have never been a coffee drinker. My sister had her teeth whitened at our dentist and worked well but she is not or never has been a smoker. It cost her about 300 years ago and then they made the tray things that she uses at home They can put some kind of overlay, I had that done along time ago and it was great. Had it only on a couple of teeth upper front and it was about 100. The one thing I would not advise is veneers or anything that would require them to file your teeth down. Talk to your dentist and see what they think you should try. I will say that you can find some items on Amazon for teeth whitening but I would not use without talking over with your dentist. You might try the baking soda peroxide brushing that I have done in the past, seems to work but is not an overnight fix, but nothing is. It depends on cost that you can afford and time you can tolerate to see results. I am an old widow, not out there dating, those things can make a difference. You want to feel your best and confident when you are dating or socializing. I am not, so I can wait for other things to help, That being said if it bothers you do something if it helps your confidence. I would! K -
Opah, You are just to sweet. My husband had a friend who gave us wild hog when he hunted so I know how good it is. My husband was not a hunter or fisherman. I grew up with it but I never cared for venison or even quail. The only wild meat I had that I enjoyed was the hog. That said, with my husband, my inlaws passed, my son grown with his own family I just don't cook like I used to just for one person. Thanks for thinking of me, that was very kind. I look forward to hearing your hunting stories. They make me smile. K

Never doubt your instincts, you did what was right for both of you, if only for 2 months or 2 years, you are together. People thought I was crazy for spending thousands on a dog but they did not understand how important he was to me. They also did not know that I save money just for taking care of my pets. I would rather put that away for them than silly things for me. Their love and company is such a joy in my life. K

Such a sweet baby, I am so glad she is home. Just love, kiss and spoil her. We never know when our time is over human or animal. She looks tired but happy to be home after being in the hospital. We all feel like that after were sick. I will bet she will be up and about tomorrow! K

I do not care when you hunt them. I care about when you eat them! Wish I could be there for that! K

Your never are ready until you are ready. I did not want to quit but I finally came to the conclusion it truly was life or death. It has been hard but nowhere near as hard as I thought. I am still what I call a newbie. Almost at 14 weeks. I still crave hard but I know it is just a mind game now. Realizing that has made it easier. K

You go Opah, that is what I was talking about, taking care of yourself. You are great hardworking guy that deserves the respect and not be made to feel guilty when you have to put your health first!! K

I am going to call this on the upside. She is doing better now, and I think be much better once she gets home. Even humans that get sick just want to come home, sleep in their bed and be pampered. What ever time she has she wants to spend it with her family. Do not give up, she may rally more than what the vet says. In my prayers K

@Katgirl You make me so jealous, with your 4 kids and soon to be 13 grandchildren. I only have one child and one grand child. I don't think you need worry about another bad romance, has sounded like your current guy is great. -
@Jordan7 I am with you, waiting and worrying is the worst part. I think we just have to wait until Jillar feels strong enough to give us an update. @KatgirlI am happy and proud for you on your check up. You are working so hard with your quit, diet and workouts. BRAVO!
-
I am sorry that someone could not update you on Cookie. It is just like when we have to go to the doctor to have test and wait for the results. I know you are feeling the worst fear and anxiety. Just remember that you have given all your love to Cookie. K

I am still doing my quit so @Abby your diet is still for me..Guys I don't need mule, I am the mule carrying all the groceries into the house. It does count as a workout, there is walking and weight lifting. I am just poking fun, I use to run, swim and ice skate. I always did all the yard work,(was not my husbands thing). I know I always felt strong and healthy. Right now I just feel old and tired. The doc says there are certain things I can't do anymore. That is when the weight started creeping. I used to eat anything I wanted because I moved so much at home and at work. Now I don't work and I can't do the yard work. I hate getting old!!! K

Linda Glad you got those vaccines out of the way. I did both about a month ago, had no side effects other than some soreness in my arm. I am just trying to remember I have to get the second shingles shot the end of this month. @jillar sorry Cookie is no better tonight, hopefully she will rebound in the morning since she is getting fluids. I hope she is much like me, get some rest, get some good nutrition (soup) and feel better. I know how scary this is and I can't get the two of you out of my mind and heart. Everyone is praying for you. K

Hey Opah, you feeling better? you know you are not supposed to eat the packaging of your chow mein. I have heard of eating light but I think you took it a little to far. K
-
I to have been have been going at it for a long time just to the wrong place. I love your word crapalooza, would you mind if I make it my motto? K
-
Hi Justin you are doing great with your quit and your weight but I have to keep things light. I think I did about 200 curls today bending alternate arms to place food in my mouth. I did about 50 up and downs letting the dogs in and out. I did some weight training with the pots and pans as I cooked food I should not be eating. Of course I should always do some stretching and bending. Got that done unloading the dishwasher. Some day I will be sending you a message to help me eat better and control my weight. Trust me it is going to one heck of a workout for you. Keep it going, you are tackling two tasks at one time and that only calls for admiration.! K

There are no words I can say to make this better or easier for you. Just know that there is a whole world of people out here that are sending their prayers and want only good things for you and Cookie. K
-
Dear @jillar I am sorry you cant be with your Cookie. All we can do is pray they can find out what is going on, help to ease her pain and help get things better. Keep us updated. K

I know it was hard for you as well. Melanoma is a beast, fast moving. I think it was and will be the hardest thing we have ever done. I tried to send you an email but it said you were not receiving emails. Just wanted to let you know in case something was wrong. K

Right know I am sitting down for a rest. I made a big pot of soup this morning. Made pancakes and bacon for the freezer. Son came over and worked on the yard, fall clean up. Sent some soup and a pork roast home with him. Told him he needs to start stocking the pantry with canned and dry goods. The prices are just going up and they are on a limited budget. At least he has listened and stocks the freezer when meat is on sale. I am tired of worrying about COVID and variants, the rise in cost of everything. Please let the government figure out what to do for all of us! K

Discuss with your dentist, If you can afford it he could do some whitening and then advise you what product would be good to maintain your results. You could sprinkle on a little baking soda on top of your tooth paste to see if that helps. I have done that and it does seem to help. I am doing a test of a new toothpaste right now that seems to work. I have no idea what it is but seems to work really well. When I send in the survey I will ask and see if they will tell me what to watch for. It seems to be the best toothpaste I have used overall. K -
Dear @Linda My husband passed as a result of metastatic basal cell carcinoma. Very rare, took a couple of months for them to figure it out. Sent samples and test results all over the country to confirm it, MD Anderson, Cleveland Clinic and Sloan Kettering. We tried everything. Best help we received was from TGen Clinical Research in Scottsdale Arizona. Did a clinical trial there that was amazing. He got so much better for about 18 months. They paid all the traveling expenses as well. I am posting these so people will know about them and the great work they do. If you are facing a end of the road please try the clinical trials, they are doing great work. They may not be able to save your loved one but they can give you more happy time together. My husband would be proud that he helped bring a new drug to FDA approval. K

I have not done that since I was a teenager and in my twenties. It was a regular thing then. K

I have had my arm twisted, my head put in a vice and been tasered and none of it has kept me out of the kitchen...but I have not smoked. I will worry about the weight later. I admire your strength!! K
