Thats okay, I knew the weather was bad. If has forced me to watch a netflix show set in Sweden, I think, hard to keep up with the subtitles, but there is snow.
-
Just a side note for you that missed dinner, I think I am getting my mojo back, probably the best lasagna I have cooked in ten years. Guess that happens when your sadness takes a day off and let's you be happy in the kitchen.

Kel. it was my first stick shift, I took it to a little hill in town and taught myself, not to pop the clutch or roll backwards.

Chrissy Fare.... what's Christmas Food for you?
Kris replied to notsmokinjo's topic in Food For Thought
They both sound great. Is it sweetend coconut like use for baking? K -
Don't you miss them, they were such great little cars!
-
I must say I did love that car, white on white with the crager wheels of the time. I would be happy to drive it today. Oh the things we long for from our youth. It many sound silly but prior to the grand prix I had a little white and tan hatch back ford pinto. I also loved that car and in fact when I dream of my youth that is what I am driving. I sometimes go online checking classic car auctions to see if I could find one. No luck so far but it does not hurt to look

Oh my god, was it one of the red rubber bands? I would think it might be part of an instestine or something. I would be to afraid. I would have spent 400 at the emergency vet just to have them laugh in my face but they would still want the money.

@jillar she is beautiful, the only reason I do not own a cat is my son and I are both allergic. @Linda, I must confess there have been times I had to pull something out of the dogs bottoms, I thiink they were my sons socks. Since he moved out I have not had to do that. My poor sister has a dog that she has to clean his bottom everytime he goes. Whoever docked his tail messed up his whole back end. Can you imagine a dog yelling "i'm done, come wipe my butt"
-
Well at least you did not put your hog on the table!! In my youth I owned a grand prix with a 454 four barrell. Guys would pull up for a race and I would just laugh and go on at regular speed. I did find out later that when my sis would borrow my car she was out there burning rubber. LOL

I have to say I can sympathize, two furry dogs and they will get the dingle balls. I try to stay ahead of it and I shave their butts around there. As long as I get that done there is not problem, fall behind. but if if don't it don't fall behind..

Linda, I am so happy that you had a chance to spend this special time with your friend. So much fun for a group of ladies to get out together, be silly, just like we are teenagers and cap off the day with a great lunch. We may be older now but we still now how to have a great day!!

@jillar did not realize you were in California. Most people adore everything the state has to offer. I will admit I am weird because I love the cold. In my mind I am thinking you are a tiny little thing that has a hard time staying warm. I am now a very fluffy girl and I think my weight plays into the fact that I run warm. I was not always fluffy but even then at a light weight I still preffered cold weather. I think is is just genetic as my family generations go way back on the east coast. I would zoom you to dinner, but you know me, not a techno wizard, dont know how to zoom

You live there and you may be tired of it, but I will take the 32. I do not mind the snow and ice as long as I don't have to drive in it. That is why I keep a big stash of everthing, if I don't want to go out, I don't have to. I know it is a strange thing to love the cold, dark and the rain. There are many people that suffer depression in the winter, they need the sunlight for their body function correctly. I on the other hand pray for the fall and winter. I find the long hot days of summer draining, I do get out there, I love having a vegetable garden but I tend to be out early or late.

Doreen, What type of sausages, I know from here to there we have different ideas of what suasage is. Are you talking a blood sausage (eww), a traditional pork, beef, chicken or venision (again eww) or a combination? I know you enjoy different things there. I have been trying to work up my courage to try beans on toast. I love both of these things but have not tried them together. Isn't life funny, that we all eat different things all over the world and till we have the chance/courage to trythem we do not know what we have been missing. Let's take calf fries, they are the testicles of a young bull. They are sliced then, coated and deep fried and served with dipping sauce. I hae lived in cowboy country my whole life and have never eaten this, but they are very popular. Tell us about one on the weird things on the UK menus.

Okay lets go with a plan change, I will come there because it is still like summer here and I want it to be cold. After I put the lasgana together I started a pot of taco soup. I tend to cook a lot one day so I don't have for a few days. Pan of brownies in the oven next. I think our California folks woul be willing to come there and enjoy the true weather winter. I have only been to snow areas twice, once to Lake Tahoe Nevada, where my husband skied and I fell on my ass repeatedly. Second time was a business trip to Minneapolis/St Paul. That was really an eye opener, the streets were plowed and the snow was higher on the edge of the streets, like running a gauntlet. I must admit I am out of wine again but have a list going. Hope you and Lily are snuggled up under a softie ( what my grandson calls my blankets) with a roaring fire and a cup of hot chocolate or soup.

When I was young I loved to ice skate. My husband did not take to it. Our son enjoyed it but is was hard to make time to skate with his other activities. I was thinking this week it would be fun to take the grandson. I am past my prime and had a hip replacement this year but I cannot think of anything some special I would like to share with my grandson. Things are now on lock down as his Mom has Covid and they are in quartine. Maybe we could do it after quartine, I just don't know if I should try with the hip. I would be happy just to see him give a go.

Okay @Linda I have just finished making a large pan of lasgana, counting on you for the salad and garlic bread. What time does your flight arrive? who else shoud we invite to an virtual dinner party. I am thinking @jillar and @Doreensfree because they do so much for us. @Gus is celebrating a big success. Maybe @Boo, but he can't make it, he is at home rubbing Sugar Britches tummy in anticipation of Boo2's arrival. We can't have @Opah they won't allow his guns on the plane and if he is coming to Texas he will want to hunt.Everyone in California would not to come because let's face it, it is California, I would like to be there. Maybe the down unders would like to visit. Sorry guys I am just feeling fun today!

Chrissy Fare.... what's Christmas Food for you?
Kris replied to notsmokinjo's topic in Food For Thought
I agree tell us more. Have not heard of them. This could be a new addition to many a table/ -
Here is my idea. What are you thinking Opah? To let some jerk aggravate you on the road. You are better than that. What if that guy was a whacko, that he might hurt you? It would not be just you but also your wife, your mother, your children, your grandchildren. I do not pretend to know everything about the workings of the male mind. There are times when you can put your hog on the table and other times you just keep that in your pants. You are a man, a strong man and as such you must keep your macho in check for the greater good, which is your family. Your do not know who you might come upon that is mentally ill and could do something terrible. What if your family was there with you. Would you want them to be hurt by your reactions,. There are many men that have let there anger destroy familes, you are not that guy. Get the vehicle fixed and let it go. A thing is just a thing but your family is forever.
-
What to say, as usual you have provided much motivation for me! You are fierce, strong, determined and that is your sucess. We are blessed that you have chosen to share these things with us. It is so much easier to be with someone on a road trip, that will drive the journey when you must rest. That lifts us up with their strength. And most of all you will always be here helping us stay on the path to a better life.

The joys of motherhood, wish I still got take care of my son when he is sick, but no, he went and grew up on me, now has a beautiful wife to take care of him. And life goes on in a circle, someday your daughter will be there to clean up a mess, give you a bath and tuck you into bed. She will feed you broth and you will tell stories of long ago and nap together, her dreaming of you being her daughter and she dreaming of you being her mother.

waitng for my ambien to kick in. can't believe she finally gave me something to help me sleep. In the soon to be grogginess I thought of @Opah and his pizza dreams. I have been craving pizza for a couple of weeks. Most all are takeout or delivery these days. I am thinking back to the seventies. There a lot of pizza places that were like a restaurant. They were most decorated in red and black and dark inside. There were wall sconces and tiny table lamps that made the room glow. It was the place to go for a date back then. Teenagers found them to be a romantic place to take your girl and more often than not your friends would also be there on a date. They were always open late so you had another place to go to when a party was over. Hopefully soon I will be able to tell you how bad I burned the roof of my mouth or bottom lip/chin with hot molten cheese. Wishing you pizza pidancing in dreams tonight. There is a famous Christmas movie that has the line "Youth is wasted on the young"

I did ask my son if they knew which type she had. He said they could only tell her she was positive. guess they have to look at in the lab to know which type. I will let you know if they send her more information regarding the type.

I am glad you do not have problem with mobilty. I was people know that sometimes others can use a helping hand. When my husband was ill I did have struggles with his tank, wheelchair and walker sometimes. I really appriciated when a man would help me get the wheelchair in and out of the car.

I am sorry to hear your nephew has contracted the virus, we can only be thankful, that the effects will hopefully be mild and that they will recover quickly. K
