  1. 7. Store school supplies in that, pens, pencils, erasers, ruler, protracted, compass, keep in desk at school. @jillar, I collect mostly mechanical watches, meant for men (so I can read the damn things). I especially like dive watches, and am very active on several watch forums, where I am the only girl…
  2. I had not heard about this. Fascinating, as is the man! I really have to pay better attention to what’s going on in the world…..
  3. 5. I have a shoebox full of watch bands, so I can switch out bands in my watch collection.
  4. Even silly ladies are sexy THVDE
  5. German Potato Salad
  6. Do I have to make a new plan, Stan?
  7. I can relate to your fear. If you struggle with anxiety, any change is scary. Routine and ritual are important to us. I Noticed that I fair better when with my boyfriend, either at his place, or mine. So, sometimes, I make myself go home, alone, for a week or so, to prove to myself that I am O. K. alone. I don’t want to be dependent on anyone else for my happiness, or well-being. You will do fine, as do I.

    chicks or sticks

-20! This is becoming a habit! Chics rule!
  9. Store old photographs in one
  10. Unfortunately, Opah, there are A$$holes everywhere. I admire you speaking up, but If this guy is your boss, I would be careful. Maybe just smile at him, and ignore his rudeness. He probably doesn’t even know he’s a d- - k!
  11. Lawrence, I did it your way, and when I got down to 7 cigarettes a day, and did that for a few weeks, I said, close enough, and then stopped all together. So keep tapering, get down below a half pack, then stop! I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it seemed. Of course I had cravings, but I stuck close to this group, and it’s been rather painless. Now, I have a full month smoke free! BTW, it was my doctor who got through to me, too. Being a Nurse, I don’t much like doctors, but he was so convincing and passionate, (and, of course, I knew he was right) I followed his advise. You can do this, Lawrence! Come aboard the train!
  12. 9. Smash it to pieces, and glue it back together
  13. I’m from NJ, moved to wine country, CA, after my second husband suddenly passed away. My first husband and the father of my children, is alive and well, that &$#@*! Looks like I will get to see him in a few weeks. Can’t wait! Anyway, I smoked most of my adult life, quit in 2009, for 6 years, then picked up the habit again, after a bad breakup. Stupid, I know… When I turned 70, in April, I started thinking about quitting. I have 4 kids, 12 grandkids, and #13 is on the way. I want to stick around for awhile, and enjoy my legacy, as long as I can. So, I started to cut down my smoking, and on May 10th, at 8:00 PM, I smoked my last cigarette. I joined this group about a week later. Oh, and Sorry, Abby, I love shrimp! KAT
  14. 7. Use it to play spin the bottle
  15. Ever notice some workouts are harder than others, even though you are repeating the same routine? I really didn’t feel like going for that 2nd power walk this evening. I felt a bit sluggish. In response to that feeling, I pushed myself to go a little faster than usual. I have a dedicated course mapped out, that normally takes 17 laps, to complete a full 20 minutes. This evening It took 19 laps. That should tell you something about my personality! “Don’t feel like it, huh? I’ll show me!”
  16. Opah, are you exercising and eating half the amount you used to eat? Have a 4 ounce steak, instead of 8 or 10. Cut your meat in small bites, and chew slowly. It really works. I only have a one month quit going, but I am doing all of these things. And I am 70 years old , Opah. I do 2 20 minute power walks every day. It has been three weeks. I have lost 8 pounds, instead of putting on weight, because I quit smoking. When I say power walk, I get my heart rate really up there. I just finished my 2nd work out, and my heart rate was at 136, which is a little above my perfect target. My lungs hurt a bit when I work out, as expected after smoking for years, but I work through it. You can do something similar, Opah. I am sorry about your vision troubles. I will pray for a good outcome for you. Fondly, KAT P. S. I always enjoy reading what you have to say. I feel we would be great friends.

    Damm virus

Things have been pretty open here for awhile. There is a movement to recall our governor for the rules he put in place in the beginning of the pandemic. Naturally, it is politically motivated, and angers me. How can you fault our leaders for trying to keep us safe? Ridiculous! He will be fine, as we are such a blue state, but it still angers me. I would not want the responsibility for making decisions that can have a direct impact on our populations’ health. Even though my significant other and I are fully vaccinated, we still wear masks in stores, when we go shopping. We are leaving next week on our cross country trip, so it will be interesting to see how each state is coping with the pandemic, at this point. We will bring a 50 pack of N- 95’s with us, and plenty of hand sanitizer, as well as wipes to clean surfaces in hotel rooms.
  18. Can’t you ignore Floyd, and see the answer?

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
