  2. @Kris, you got it! What a great incentive for both of us to remain cigarette free… Flower Mound is very nice. I don’t know if you remember the crazy murder story, where a guy drove from CA to an 18 year old kid’s house in Flower Mound, last August, to shoot him over an online gaming dispute? That was my daughter’s next door neighbor. Crazy!
  3. I guess that means you are near Dallas? Cool! I should be back in the area at Christmas time.

  7. It doesn’t really matter, if it was only in my head, right?
  8. I occasionally get ocular migraines which are very freaky. I see weird flashes of light, like lightning bolts in my peripheral vision. They last about a half hour. I do not get the accompanying debilitating headache.
  9. And there you have it… Has our fearless moderator just crossed a line, you know the same one I crossed in my head yesterday?
  10. Love New York style cheesecake….
  11. Cheese cake, topped with strawberries would be nice….
  12. Good luck, @Kris! It was my Cardiologist who insisted I quit, though he did not offer any advice on how to go about it, so I was on my own. I hope you have better luck with your Doc.
  13. Doing great, Robbie! Sorry I missed the milestone. So87, now? I am not far behind you… Congrats!
  14. I was afraid of the NRT products, so chose cutting down the number of cigarettes smoked per day, instead. Some are against my method, but it worked well for me. When I got down to about 6 or 7, I stopped. Withdrawal was relatively painless. That was 7 weeks ago. What I like about my method is that I was “nicotine free” on my quit date. To my way of thinking, if you are still using nicotine, have you really quit? I know this is a controversial topic , so forgive me, if I have offended anyone.
  15. What part of Texas? My only daughter and the other 7 grandchildren are in a Dallas suburb called Flower Mound. I was there in March.

  19. @jillar, how many ranks are there? Suddenly, I am a Contributor. What comes next?
  20. Doesn’t everyone bite it prematurely?
  21. I am blessed. I do wish I didn’t live thousands of miles away, but I make sure to see them all, when I can. Because of COVID, this is the longest time I have gone without visiting. I last saw everyone a year and a half ago. If I didn’t have a life in California, I would move back here. But, I am hopelessly in love with my guy, so will stay put. I do love California, too. Everyone is happy and successful, and blessed with healthy kids. That’s all a Mom can ask for…
  22. Should anyone dare answer that question?
  23. Would they then be minty lickers?
  24. Kids are great! I spent a lot of time with my 7 and 4 year old granddaughters today. Such a delight! I feel very blessed to have 12 grandchildren, and lucky number 13 will make his entrance in November. Then I will have 8 granddaughters and 5 grandsons. On Saturday, I will see a third son, and his two children, as well as my brother. This whole trip is about seeing family and friends. @Gus, each day will get easier for you, as you acclimate to working again. In a few short weeks, you will be loving it! In the meantime, stay in the moment, focus on what you see, feel and hear. When all your senses are engaged, anxiety lessens. Trust me, I know!
  25. Can you think of specific widows who might volunteer? (This could get very inappropriate very quickly)

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
