    Hi

Hello Thomas. This site was a great find for me and will be for you as well. The support you receive is unmatched and the more you hang around and utilize this site the more support and understanding you will have. Joining QuitTrain was the single most smartest thing I did when I quit. Coming up on 3 years this March! You can do this! See you around!
  6. Those words hit hard. Truth.
  7. Welcome back Darcy! I spent almost the first whole week of my quit in bed. lol I laugh about it now, but quitting smoking broke my brain. Mind bending stuff. I look forward to seeing you succeed!
  8. I REALLY do NOT miss THAT cough. I’m quit. I’m quit. I’m quit.
  9. Happy New Year to all my fellow quitters! Thanks to all of you for seeing me through another year. Each and every one of you helped me along in some way. I am so thankful for all of you!
  10. And what a new life it is!
  11. Congratulations Stew! 5 months in already! You’re doing great!
  12. Congratulations @QuittingGirl! You’re doing great!
  13. Sorry to hear that you have this medical issue to deal with. Be diligent and work hard on your physical therapy. You’ll do fine. I do believe most of what you’ve advised here will apply to your recovery.
  14. Girl! Way. To. Go. I remember when you used to curse so much about quitting that you couldn’t have fit a cigarette in your mouth to smoke it no matter how bad you may have wanted to. You are awesome.
  15. Thanks Yoda! I would have never known. Making a note of this in my banking file. I’m sorry that you went through this. Frickin’ thieves. @intoxicated yoda
  16. Congratulations on your 7 and 1/2 year quit and also on your retirement @Wayne045. I just love it when someone checks in that hasn’t logged on for awhile, especially because they are still smoke free and living their best life! I hope to see you around.
  17. I’m sorry that you are having such a rough time Bri. I hope that things are at least a little better today? I spoke with someone a while back that would grab her phone and record herself saying I want/need a cigarette because—— and then she would try to list 5 things the cigarette would do for her and then she would go back and listen to it. She ALWAYS hated how she sounded. Needy, ridiculous, ignorant. She’d be so embarrassed for herself. This exercise gave her what she needed to reground herself in her quit and go on. I thought it a wonderful idea and if I ever feel like I’m going to cave to a crave I will try it. I do hope that today is a better day.
  18. Happy Birthday Doreen! I hope that you enjoyed your day.
  19. I’m thankful that your husband is not injured and that you didn’t smoke a cigarette either. I sure do hope that you will be able to replace your car soon. And yes, it sounds like you have a great mom!
  20. Phenomenal! Congratulations, Christian! And THANK YOU!
  21. And this is just the physical effects. Smoking can also be detrimental to your mental and financial well being.
  22. You’re amazing Stew! I’m just so happy for you! Wishing you great continued success with your quit!
  23. There is not one pictured, but does barely playing the piano count @Mac#23? The height of my ability was an intermediate level ‘Faithfully’ by Journey. Practicing became a chore. I do wish that I could still play.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
