  8. Welcome aboard @Freedom53! You can do this and we are all here to help! There is so much help here on the forum. Reading the personal testimonials on here was the biggest help of all for me. It was so reassuring knowing that others had gone through the same issues as I had and survived. Oh and posting your own experiences is very helpful to yourself and others. So please stay close and if you need anything please let us know.

  19. It’s so refreshing to see someone with such a long quit own up to experiencing a desire for a cigarette after a great length of time. I am 5 months quit and although I hardly every think of smoking anymore I know that I need to always be vigilant against the addiction. I too believe that we are addicts. There is no other word for what we deal with when we quit, the thoughts we have from time to time and the craving for something that is only going to kill us. I am sorry that you were under so much stress but thank you for being honest so that us newbies KNOW that we will battle this the rest of our lives. And awesome job saying NOPE to nicotine!
  20. Welcome Darcy!!!! I’m glad that you want ride the train with us! I literally would be sitting in my favorite chair on my front porch chain smoking away right now if it weren’t for the QuitTrain and all of the helpful and kind fellow passengers here with me! Stick close and let us know if you need us. We are here for you!
  21. WooHoo!!! Congratulations @Dianne!!!
  22. Thanks everyone! Time is flying by!!! I hardly ever think about smoking anymore and although I still run into triggers from time to time it’s becoming second nature to be dismissive of them. I have a new life to live!!! All of this from a 2 pack a day 35 year smoker of just 5 short months ago!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
