The best we can be to ourselves is to strive daily to be the best that we can be.

I discovered this early on in my quit when I was trying to figure out why I was having so much anxiety. Although I still suffer from it, my anxiety levels dropped considerably when I cut almost all of the caffeine from my diet. So yeah, if I’m not doing nicotine I can’t do caffeine.

I hope that you are feeling better today Kris!
-
Congratulations @kenzie_peyton! 1st month down!
-
You are 100%correct on this @KEL

I have @Sal. Although I skipped step 1, I I did suffer when the amount of nicotine I was putting into my system was reduced. Also, when you finally end step 3 you are going to hit that same brick wall everyone that quits cold turkey hits and it’s going to be rough. The ONLY reason I used the patch was because I suffer from severe anxiety and knew that was the only way I would survive my quit. I do not take any medications for my anxiety, so I had nothing to tamper it down with during my quit. I would have quit cold turkey otherwise. I would not recommend the prolonging of nicotine withdrawal to anyone unless their circumstances were the same as mine. I hope this helped. Did you have a specific issue you are dealing with?

Good luck!

Congratulations @Katgirl!!! 8 whole months quit!

Welcome @maybaby66! I’m a September ‘66 baby! You’ve survived your first week of not smoking!!! Come now, @jillar We ALL know how you love to grab a heiney every now and again!
-
Sorry for your loss @KEL It would be a great honor in memory of her to dedicate your 100 day quit to her tomorrow. I know that every time I hear of someone I know or knew passing away from a smoking related illness it strengthens my resolve to never light up again.

This is amazing @Steven Drojensky! Congratulations!
-
I guess keep it since it doesn’t offend Linda. lol
-
@Linda that yes bitch meme was a total error! I had selected the other one first and it wasn’t going through, so I got aggravated and my finger hit the bitch one! It looked like that wasn’t going through either. Whew! I was happy about that! So, I selected my original choice again and thought all was well. But noooo! Of course not! LOL Anyway, I don’t know how to fix it. Maybe @Doreensfree or @jillar can fix it?
-
YESSSS!! This is so amazing, Linda! I’m so happy for you and you should be SO proud! You did it! How many times did you think that you wouldn’t?! Thank you for all your quotes! So many of them helped me and your brutal honesty about your quit journey has helped me and so many others! Seriously, I hope that you reward yourself well! So, how IS the Lido Deck?
-
Congratulations @AceWhite! One month shy of the Lido deck!
-
@notsmokinjo I hope that your daughter’s injury is not too serious!

I hope that you are having a better day @Kris! There are just some issues that come with becoming a non smoker that only time will erase. So, head up! You’ve had a beautiful quit and I’ve watched you become such a caring and helpful member on here! You have A LOT to be proud of! I’m thankful that you hopped onboard and I know there are others respond to you. I will keep you in my thoughts today!

Congratulations on your 4 year quit @Octain!
-
You too, @TONY! Faith and Hope!
-
That’s awesome @Kris! So much of my life has been centered around camping and fishing also! 🏕 Save up the money from not smoking and plan that trip!!
-
@TONY Well, I was fortunate enough to have my own pond for years, after my husband passed I eventually had to let it go because of the cost of upkeep and due to quite a few years of drought in my area. But I will fish here, there, and anywhere!!! LOL Ponds, rivers, lakes, streams, off the pier, and in the surf! It’s all good! I am not a deep sea fisher lady though. And the one type of fishing that I have never tried, but want to is fly fishing. I’ve sorted through many an issue and planned some life altering moves while fishing! It’s good for my soul! I hope that you can get back to fishing soon!
-
I love to fish! I smoked less when I was fishing. I could go hours without smoking. I am always so at peace when fishing. I can totally lose myself. I have not been in forever and I aim to fix that real soon. Congratulations on your month quit!
