Welcome @Sunshine! You seem to be well prepared for this quit. You’ve got this! See you around!
-
I second this!

Welcome aboard @mediahound! Sounds like you are ready to do this! You are doing this! Looking forward to following your quit!
-
Excellent advice! I know you can do this @Kdad! Stay close!

Congratulations on 5 years quit @Rozuki and thank you so much for hanging around all of these years to support all of the quitters in their quit and to keep that quit! You are awesome!

YAY @Katgirl! 9 months down! WooHoo!

I’ve only ever had one smoking dream. Thank God.

Welcome aboard @Oslo! I’m glad that you found us and it’s a great thing that you recognize the need to quit smoking while you are still young. It’s not the easiest thing you’ll ever do, but it is so very worth it! Read everything you can on this site. It’s all good and so very helpful. I especially hope that if you feel that you are going to cave to a crave, you will reach out to us on our SOS forum. Someone is almost always on and we all really want to see newbies succeed with their quit, so we do our best to talk you through it. I’m looking forward to following your quit. Don’t worry about those that doubt you or have lost faith in you. This is for YOU. Your health. Your life. See you around.

Severe sleep issues in the beginning. I didn’t think that I would ever get over my insomnia.
-
I thought about him a couple of days ago, @Kris. I hope that everything is okay with him and his family, especially his mom.

Sorry @Kdad. The withdrawal from nicotine is the worst. It is necessary though. Please do whatever you have to do to keep from smoking. You’ve done so well just by reaching out for support. That shows you really want to be done with nicotine controlling every aspect of your life. I hope that you stick close. Reading as much as possible on this site helps so much. Drink plenty of cold water and cranberry juice. Also, take off out the door and make a couple of laps around the yard, down the street and back. It helps. It really does!

Congratulations!!!! You are doing awesome Steven!

I’m also grateful for QT and those on board! I’m grateful that so many over the years have documented so much or even just a little of their quit experience for others to read and know that they are not alone in what they are going through but also that they can survive it! @KEL you have been such a blessing to me since day one of your journey on this train. So I’m thankful for you also!
-
Congratulations Ace! This is so exciting! You’ve done this in such style. So many look up to you and will for a long time! Enjoy your party up on the Lido Deck!
-
Great job with hopping right back onto the train! Next time, please SOS us! We can help you through the crave!
-
Sorry to hear of your diagnosis @JudiMD, but so very thankful they found it early. Stay on this site as much as you are able to during your initial quit. It helps so very much to read all of the posts made by other quitters and please send out an SOS if needed. There is almost always someone on here to help. Oh and welcome aboard!

I’m glad that you decided to hop back on the train @Sunnyside! Hope to see you around here a lot!
-
Sorry I’m late @KEL! Congratulations on such a fine quit! You are doing exceptionally well and I do love seeing how helpful you are to others here! I hope that you gave yourself a nice treat!

Congratulations @Sal and Mrs. Sal!

@Pricci Congratulations on quitting! Yes, you are going to experience all the withdrawal symptoms each time you step down. So, hell x’s 3. And then you quit wearing the 7mg patch and it’s the same as going cold turkey. I’m 10 and 1/2 months in to my quit. I used the patch. I skipped stage 1 and drastically reduced the length of time I wore the stage 2 and 3 patches. If your mental state can handle cold turkey, do it. My mental state barely survived being broken forever from weaning myself down. It would not have survived full blown cold turkey. I always recommend cold turkey unless a person’s anxiety issues are extreme. I hope that you have a better day today. Stay close!

Take care of yourself Linda! I hope that you back to your normal self soon!

Congratulations @catlover!

So true @Mee! Also, the moment I realized and admitted that ‘I’ am an addict my quit became so much easier and I was at more peace with myself.
