Whoop! Whoop! Congratulations on 12 years Bakon!

I know, totally horrific! I think vaping is even worse than smoking, if that's even possible! I work with a lot of vapers. I’ve never heard so much coughing. Young, old, new vapers, long-time vapers; doesn’t seem to matter. They all sound the same.

Ohhhh, @DebbieS! Immersing yourself into video game play is awesome. You can lose or in this case, gain hours of your life back! Daily! HaHa I’m old school myself; Zelda, Mario Kart, any of the Lego games—Star Wars is my favorite of those. What games do you play? I wish you well as you set out on your life saving trek Monday. Can’t wait to watch you defeat Nicodemon at his own game!

Congratulations @Genecanuck! One month quit is awesome! I hope that you celebrated in grand style. I’ve enjoyed reading all the material you have contributed to the site. I feel that I have a solid quit going but it never hurts to reinforce something so precious.

Welcome Debbie. I also agree that using the same method that you used to quit smoking will be the smart way to go on quitting vaping. I look forward to seeing your success. Being active on the site helps so much and our SOS forum can be utilized with great results as many times as needed. See you around.

Welcome aboard @Asphodelian You’ve come to the right place to get your quit done! Just remember to get on here and SOS if need be and someone will help you through any craves you may have. Your life will definitely open up after quitting. We all missed out on so much while we were letting nicotine control us. I’m looking forward to seeing you around!

Welcome aboard @I can do it Day 3 is doable. Everyone here has done it. No, it’s not easy. But totally worth it. I smoked for 35 years. You have to get your of your supply and all paraphernalia. Change up your route so that you are not driving past the places you purchased your cigarettes from. Increase your intake of fluids on Day3 and if at all possible sleep through it. I spent my first week in bed as I was experiencing a horrific state of withdrawal. Get on here and post when you are experiencing these craves and others can talk you through them. We truly want to see you succeed and experience the freedom we have acquired.

Well said @DenaliBlues Expressing these realizations could only help your healing progress and because you shared them they will help so many others.

Lighting up and taking a drag off of a cigarette requires forethought and deliberate actions. You choose to do it. No way it could be classified as a slip up. Definite relapse. And then you have to go through quitting all over again. Never doing that again. Can’t. NOPE!

Three years is great Yoda! I’m sure thankful that you were a huge part of my quit! Congratulations!

I don’t know what sports you are involved in @Sportsfan66, but it doesn’t really matter. You have an opponent. Even if it’s your own stats you’re going against. You prepare. Get your mind in the game. Consider all information available on opponent. Develop strategies. Provide for upsets. Implement the plan. Step out onto the playing field and do battle. Every. Day. It’s what recovering addicts do. You have a whole team here for support. Experience? We’ve all been through it. Suffering defeat and sometimes, I swear with nicotine(?), suffering victories. But total victory can be had. Reach out and talk our ears off. It helps. It helps you, us(your team), and others who come to scout out our forum. Something you experience can be the assist someone else was needing. Welcome aboard and I hope to see you around.

It is good to hear from you @LoriB. You are doing great. Keep working through those triggers. Keep your head up and a smile on your face because you have so much to be proud of. You are overcoming an addiction. So many people never even try, but look at you! Kicking that Nicodemon’s butt to the curb.
