  1. CONGRATULATIONS LADYBUG! I am so happy you are doing so well, you deserve it. Keep up the great work.
  2. I started running on the treadmill about 6 weeks ago. I built up slowly and am now at about 2.25 to 2.50 miles. My short term goal is a 5k so I am close. I never thought that I could do it, but I am and I like the feeling of it.
  3. Babs, it is interesting that you post this. My mother had a stroke after an open heart surgery when she was 35 years old. She was left with her right side paralyzed and unable to talk. Through therapy she learned to somewhat walk again and talk again with some issues. But, only because she worked at it and struggled daily is why she has made so much progress. She does not have full use of her right hand now, but make due. She looks at her hand as if telling her hand to do something, then her hand does it. It is like her mind is telling her hand what to do. We do it so naturally and she works so hard at it. I can see how that relates to not smoking. You have to tell yourself you are not smoking today and that you are letting it go and moving on.
  4. Congratulations on 10 months. Two more, we will be getting together for a drink my friend. Almost one year, that definitely calls for a celebration the real way. Those of you in driving distance should join us. (Scott that means you too!) Jenny, Baffled....Party time in two months.
  5. Congratulations on 7 months, you are doing great.
  6. Congratulations Marti, 3 weeks is fantastic. You are doing so good. Sounds like you have your mind in the right place. Keep climbing that rope.
  7. Congratulations Bonnie! One year and one month is fantastic. Keep up the great work.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
