  6. Good post Ladybug. That junkie mind lies to us daily.
  7. Good for you Evelyn for doing what you need to do to quit. You are a non-smoker, that is what counts. Great job.

  10. so true, I think we are so behind everybody else! ;)
  11. You don't want to smoke, so you will not. Ask them not to smoke in the house. If you are outside and they are smoking, you don't smoke anymore so it will not be an issue. Do not romance the cigarette- it does nothing for you. You got this. Have fun and don't stress out over it.
  12. I spent a good deal of today outside. It is finally spring in New England. Never thought we would see the snow disappear. This morning was windy, but the sun is shinning brightly now. It made me think of the change of seasons for us non-smokers. When seasons change, new triggers arise. Last year at this time, I was on my first quit and trained myself how to start a garden without smoking, do yard work without smoking or just hang out on the deck without smoking. It is so much more enjoyable. I am really looking forward to enjoying the spring smells of freshly cut grass, the rain and flowers again. I wanted to send this out for everyone to prepare for your season. Who knows, maybe you will have the cleanest yard or biggest garden in the neighborhood with all the time you are saving not smoking.
  13. I finally tried running outside today for the first time, instead of the treadmill. I think it is much harder. The weather was nice, however it was windy. Of course the wind was blowing in the opposite direction that I was going. My eyes were so teary. The second half of the run (jog) was so much easier, maybe because I was warmed up. I did about 2 miles - I took two walk breaks (two minutes each).
  14. That is perfect!
  15. Hi Sharon; I realized that after your response to Rob. (Sorry). I wish you the best of luck tomorrow, I hope he leads you in the right direction for you to start feeling better soon. Take care.
  16. It is good that you are going to see the doctor, Good luck. I hope you feel better soon.
  17. Hi Tiffany, I am also proud of you, for not smoking that cigarette and also starting that quit again. You are a determined woman. You are going to get there. I remember the first time that I sat on my deck with my husband after I quit and he was smoking and I wasn't. I was staring at his cigarette realizing that I did not want one. I could not tell you what the conversation was about, just that I was proud of myself for not wanting one. You will still have your time with your friend on her porch, talking. The only difference is, you will be a non-smoker and proud of yourself for getting there. Keep up the good work!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
