  5. thank you for rolling out the welcome mat!
  6. Thank you Angeleek. Quitting is horrible, but smoking is more horrible. I never want to go through this again, which has given me strength.
  7. Hi all- i've done this before. I quit smoking in 2005 for almost ten years. I know firsthand that NOPE means something because i'd read much of the content at whyquit and another forum like this. I took that one puff in 2014, and couldn't stop smoking for the next 7 years. My quit date was 02/07/2021 and this afternoon will mark my ONE WEEK anniversary. This hasn't been easy, and I know there's battles yet to face, but I remain committed to what I knew all along- NOPE- forever. Freedom is at my fingertips, it's my choice.
  8. Tough morning- had to let an employee go which is never easy. Still running into urges at moments like this, but NOPE is my choice I realize im an addict Day 5 stayin' alive Happy Monday all from a social distance of course
  9. The urges come complete with a vision of some sexy centerfold cig calling out to me, but I know it’s not reality. Nothing sexy about cigs. Day 5 and learning new routines being smoke free you guys rock thank you for the encouragement!!
  10. Day 4 & starting to get some bounce in my step feeling proud of the GOOD choices i'm making Cold turkey quit means i'm free of nicotine or drugs at this point, so its all a mental game. I got this
  11. Day 3 & checking in- believe it or not this little bit of accountability really helps Adding up the days smoke free- This hasn't been easy but there is no reason it can't be done. I know nicotine is a drug and i'm an addict. I can never ever ever take even one puff. Past is behind me, I control the future. I decide to live.
  12. Today is more difficult, but I refuse to let smoking be stronger than my willpower. Thank you for the encouraging words
  13. Still going strong- day 2. Not easy but doable.
  14. Long well worn road to get here, but finally I have arrived- I gave up nicotine once before, but somehow after many years she showed back up in my life. Its been a love/hate relationship, but finally I know i'm ready to be free of her once and for all. I know within a few hours memories of good times with her will creep into my thoughts but I am ready Challenge accepted Pray for me i'm headed into battle

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
