  2. YAY, Mac23! Your two years is an inspiration and your presence on the train is appreciated. Congratulations on living the life you desire, free from nicotine.
  3. I'm here.
  4. Hurray for 9 months smoke free! Overcome, hoping your ride continues in great health and joy.
  5. Made it ho.e today. Extremely wobbly and almost turned around twice to get cigarettes. Despite that fact that I really didnt want one or that one sounded "good". I remain seated on the train today.
  6. So grateful for all of your thoughts and support. I often say aloud, "I dont smoke." Hope this emotional training kicks in and FEELS REAL.
  7. Feeling like I'm just waiting to go get a pack. It's been a long month of support and celebration with people I love. I am an emotional wreck with a smile plastered on my face. Finding myself utilizing the tools of the first few days quit....do nothing but protect my quit. Avoid leaving. Just stop doing anything that raises my ire even remotely. Work starts again Monday. I just keep thinking I m headed for a pack after the folks leave and I can quietly fall apart on my own....or continue to march on with the platered smile. Love on your peeps....we never know when we won't have the chance again. Cried myself to sleep last night because of the weight gain....
  8. Hey Brioski, Glad youre rolling along on freedom and self care. Yay you. Keep doing things that celebrate your independence from smoking. I fall down on this myself. This is a rough patch for me....every smoker i pass or see on TV sets off the URGE, nay desire....to inhale death. Crazy for certain. Still smoke free and grateful for that today. Beat to all of us.
  9. Smiles about being free of nicotine slavery: Not arranging my day ....from start to finish around smoking. Not feeling self conscious about the stench. Being able to think through something difficult without smoking. Not lining the pockets of drug pushers with money I earn.
  10. Hello Steven, Glad your on the train. Please remain seated.... How're you doing so far. Sleep helped me lots in the earliest days.

  14. Hey Brioski, Some opportunities are just like that...rageful and messy and wet and icky...and you're still an exsmoker. YAY YOU. Really glad your husband is supportive. Mine is too and just rolls with whatever roller-coaster portion I'm on... It is okay to be numb and feel too much and have every little effing thing be super hard....it is okay to do absolutely nothing except protect your quit. If you have theeans to that, do that!!! You chose to quit because being free from the stench, time and money leech, endless searching and strategizing about where and when, mindless death one breath at time is NOT living the life you desire. Yay YOU. I do strongly recommend endless searching and scrolling for things that make you laugh or smile and of course reading here, rereading and playing games....all of which you know. I have taken an entire day and night to sleep... otc medicine for flu helped knock me out....used as a reaet. Not okay for everyday but when completely off my rocker, it can be the kindest option. Best of all....the crappy feelings change. We simply cannot sustain long term hysteria...our bodies shut down, crash after awhile....then something different rolls along...eventually the good feelings roll in too. Nic free in 2023....please remain seated ... Keep your arms and legs inside the ride at all times and do not exit the train. Hang loose...and next time youre losing it laugh or shread paper by hand...it doesn't hurt the animals if it gets tossed about. It is okay to BE LIGHT of heart & spirit.
  15. To bitch, ... Why do people speed up when you go to pass them?
  16. Jump - Van Halen How did we get in this handbasket?
  17. 6. Last ditch car covering once the paint and rust are taking over....just glue it on for an interesting look...

  20. Thank you everyone for your well wishes and acknowledgements. Stopped by to let you know I am still on the train and saw this celebration. Thanks for lifting me up.
  21. Having a really tough time. Opportunities abound to remain smoke free. H. No, eating plenty A. Angry, anxious take your pick...yup L. Amidst people I hold dear and lonely despite it....going through something that I don't feel comfortable sharing with many people...yet it bleeds into everything else T. Yes, o yes , o yes...very tired and not sleeping well or comfortably and 14 days until things will be different. Humor helps, yet nothing feeels funny.
  22. Brioski, Great to wake up an exsmoker everyday, right? Keep stringing the free breaths together...way to LIVE! Congratulations on a month free.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
