  1. I was lurking on your big day....Congrats on the 5 yrs!
  2. Flip Darcy, you are doing brilliant! Nobody ever forgets their first week, and that's why you are getting great advice here from the long term quitters. Hang in there...every morning when I get up, I always tell myself that I wont smoke today....it helps
  3. thanks all...means a lot
  4. Thanks....its been a very long week, but I promised myself this time around, eat healthy..walk everyday and not to feel sorry for myself...the exact opposite to the last quit....not forgetting to soak up everything I read on this site
  5. good post thanks...I ask myself the same question...why did I not quit sooner?

    50!

sorry I missed this post...well done Angeleek and totally agree with Sazerac. I'm getting the impression that you have this quit under control!
  7. nope not today
  8. Hmmm I hate to commit myself to anything...reason I'm still single lol Seriously, I think I faced the hardest part in quitting which was the decision to quit...I was scared. I'm beginning to warm to you lot again an amazing bunch of people, with always an encouraging word and most important...humour I will commit for 1 year but the daily pledge to nope stays for the day only
  9. Surprisingly ok today thanks for asking...doing things a little differently this time around...hope it works
  10. I'm in awe...
  11. Nope Not today
  12. Nope Not today
  13. Thanks all...I have been doing a lot of reading tonight which has helped, and I firmly believe that had I joined up on my first quit, I may not have thrown it away so easily, but it's now time to stop dwelling on that, and give this one my all
  14. Thanks jillar.....will be exploring a little more as time goes by. The times I struggle the most with are evenings after work, and weekends when I'm the most relaxed. I feel lethargic at times so dont feel much like doing anything except having that damn cigarette, which is when I go inside to read or take a nap My mistake Jordan7...that would be Jan 14
  15. I have been lurking for quite a while, even during my first quit, and decided to join. Been smoking for around 40 years and decided to quit for the very first time on the 14 Feb this year... Needless to say, I blew it 48 days into the quit....I'm still trying to get my head around the fact that all the hard work, sleepless nights, headaches etc went up in smoke, simply because I felt like a cigarette. Nothing dramatic happened...I just felt like a cigarette. This time around I'm struggling a little more with constant thoughts of smoking. I know I will get through this, once I accept the fact that I will feel the urge to smoke every day for the next couple of months and that having that cigarette is non negotiable. I would like to add that quittrain is a great site with some amazing members! I'm still catching up on reading some of the older posts which are very relevant for me. Thanks for having me

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
