  1. Good job on the quit and the vacation! That takes the glamor right out of smoking doesn't it? I have heard Costa Rica is beautiful. It's nice you got to enjoy it smoke free.
  2. Does Keurig make a battery operated machine that you could put in a back pack, or maybe go mobile with a 12 V adapter? Time to get a cup of Morning Joe...
  3. There were a few times I put on the gloves and hit the heavy bag, go to the gym if you can Juan, get it out however you have to right? See, even Tevez is emotional. If you aren't emotional about something you feel nothing, and feeling nothing is like being dead.
  4. Cool pad TAC Thanks for the magic spells and so on.. I like the bongo drums... :) markus
  5. Markus

    I hate it......

I see...brush fires hehe never mind
  6. Marti I know what she said. She lied. She knows she isn't quit. Why get upset, you can't quit for her? My wife smokes, we talked about quitting for years. I quit and she didn't. What was she talking about in all those discussions? Who knows? You have to let this go sweetie. xxx Markus
  7. In the West, smoking as a whole is decreasing, and is on the wane and the numbers I read recently from NCDC are around 17 per cent for the USA . More people are becoming educated. Third world rates are up. BIg tobbaco needs people who are unaware of the dangers to get their hooks into. Why? Replaceability. Someone needs to step up and fill the spots that the dead smokers leave vacant, or Philip Morris loses profit margin. No traffic, no money. Follow the money. Thats why they are making them even more addictive and people are really getting hooked up good, and so their cycle begins. This is the same reason countries die, because they don't reproduce/replace. For instance Japan has whole towns full of empty schools, with old people taking care of even older people, No young people in lots of places there. Same-same in Europe. In Japan the ratio is less than 1.0. where they do not have people to replace the ones who are dying of natural causes. Same effect, different cause. In Europe they have other ethnic groups that come in and fill the population. Look at the make up of Belgium what ethnic group is in the majority there?
  8. Like right now...is it too soon?
  9. I can see your heart...
  10. Brilliant, I love it. Sad and funny and true. A shot right to the heart, ((Jules))
  11. Really well I dont care what anyone uses, just freakin quit. I tried patches once, they taste crappy, like drinking bong water. yeachh remember LouDub? When Lou came off the patches, how miserable was he? He said it was like quitting twice. He got there though. Chantix? Yea it works for some, but for others it has really bad side affects. What else is there? Oh yea a friend of mine got some shots of belladonna behind each ear and was told to go home and sleep. He said it hurt like a SOB like someone sucker punched him behind the ears with an ice pick. I asked if he was still quit he said hell yes, it cost him 400 bucks for those damned shots, he wasn't going to go through that again. whatever gets you through the night
  12. Sharon, Well said, it's the story of you and all of us. That's how we learn sometimes, and sadder but wiser we go on with our lives, You picked back up though, that's the key. It took me 20 years to get to the point where I quit after my only relapse. 35 years of smoking with a 2 month break. You are quit now, and you have a lot of confidence, I can read it in your words you know this is it. Just proof for all of us that the best and longest of quits need constant vigilance. Congrats on your sticky. :) Markus

  16. Soozie I'll have a sip of that... You done well, you have been tested and you passed. Embrace it Soozie, as you did this time, the next time you will do the same. You upheld the words you have pledged here, that you would quit. You made the choice. You protected your quit. You could have smoked. You didn't. We are on this journey alone, even though we have this place. It could hit you at any time, and you absolutely can never ever, give in to it. You should be very strong right now. Stronger than ever, you faced your addiction's worst and held your ground. I am so proud of you Soozie! :) Markus
  17. "High Hopes" from "The Division Bell" is a fave for me The synthesizing of the vocals "forever and ever" is Floydian genius ; The grass was greener The light was brighter The taste was sweeter The nights of wonder With friends surrounded The dawn mist glowing The water flowing The endless river Forever and ever

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
