  4. Hey you guys! Thanks, I appreciate it. In the big picture, quitting may be the most important thing we ever accomplish. I have done a few things I am proud of in my (almost) 58 years but quitting smoking forever is close to the top of that list of accomplishments! It's so worth it to keep that quit once you have it, and to guard it forever. This is a great place to do that too, with nice people! :) xo & GTQ Markus
  5. Awesome...that one. Hey this is almost a Rush Hajj. Here's one just gotta smile to watch Neil Peart and Geddy taking care of business and...Lifeson just shredding away...effortless :) a bit of the Temple from the studio here.
  6. Nice, one of my fave's as well. Rush puts down a really big sound, one of the biggest IMO, not to be understated I gotta say that these (3) guys have been on for FORTY SEVEN years (1968). Nobody lasts that long! These guys are proof that Rock & Roll will never die. #World Class Rock band! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ld0bFyyOrbc

  17. Hey Tracey congrats to you! I hope you celebrated the day! :) Markus
  18. They all smoke. None of them speak. What is the significance of the white garb? The scene with Liv Tyler and the axe was...wierd. The dog shooter. The disappearing bagel in the toaster oven. What the hell do they want? A "pledge house". Really? ...disturbing, there is no plot, it's just bug out eerie. Anyone?
  19. "A serving of Irving"...lmao at the club scene and the bingo parlor :)
  20. The Quit Train Rolls On
  21. Mine was the same as yours Lennna. I had always wanted to but never did. I remember thinking how pathetic I was after that coughing fit. I wondered why I was still smoking and realized I had given up control of my health and my life to cigarettes. I wanted to quit then. At that time I remember thinking that to quit I would have to lose myself as I existed up to that point in time. The realization that I could never, ever smoke again filled me with such a sadness. I was seeing a stranger, someone who was going to lose his best friend, and I was scared. I could not see myself doing that. But I went on with that mind trip, and just did CT with a couple of weeks of Chantix. I realized later that in that moment of truth I was breaking the chains of my addiction. I had found my quit. (this will give you an insight into my tolerance for risk, I had to see it to make it real. But I couldn't see that what I had done for 35 years was risky). It is hard to break this addiction down and get real with it. Markus

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
