  1. We all know what it feels like but how would you describe it? For me the biggest factor of a craving is the desire to feel a 'hit' at the back of the throat. That's why I use very strong liquorice tablets and mints and they help. How about you?
  2. NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE
  3. I'm feeling good. I forget about it for long periods. I can't believe how much more energetic I am after only one week and a bit.
  4. Ha, you're right. How long does this phase last?
  5. I was tested yesterday following a heated argument where adrenalin levels were sky high. My brother was with me who had some smokes with him but you know what, it wasn't even an option in my mind to have one. I know that in previous attempts, I would have reached for one.
  6. N O P E
  7. Last Friday was the first full day of quitting so a mini milestone. I'm doing fine with no mega cravings. I think what made the big difference is that I've no choice, rather than it being just a wish to quit. Claudication in the leg was the catalyst.
  8. I know what the reason is. I didn't know this but I must be a Time Lord and have inadvertently stopped time for the tickers. The good news is that no one on here will age any more. I think that's the most plausible explanation don't you?
  9. You'll never catch me alive!
  10. Have I come on here and jinxed the ticker? Doh! everything works fine then I come along...……………….
  11. Oliver is a Maine Coon and weighs about 22lbs but he's not fat, just big. A totally cuddlesome and loving gentle giant. Oliver and Betty love boxes and wouldn't thank me for a plush expensive bed. Chubchub is part Siberian we think and is a boy. He's quite sparky.
  12. I too copied the ticker directly.
  13. I planned on waiting a month then seeing the doc with stronger cards to play now I've given up. They never said it directly but I got the impression that they would be unwilling to do much surgery wise if I wasn't going to help myself by quitting.
  14. @catlover Have you seen my cats in the Non Smoking Cats forum?
  15. I really like the taste improvement. I had a salad last night and things actually had flavour that I wouldn't have noticed previously such as cucumber. They just tasted like water before.
  16. I've just signed out and in again and made sure the anonymous box isn't checked.
  17. Nopey nopey nope nope.
  18. The taste buds are waking up nicely. I remember that from the first time I quit. Should my ticker be updating itself. It's 5 days now.
  19. Wow, they look amazing. What was the event? Anyway, I am a pie expert of world renown and they look the business. When I say of world renown I mean I should be recognised as such but everyone just laughs when I claim that. What's wrong with everyone with their mocking tone?
  20. I've just walked around the park, a couple of miles, and stopped four times to allow my leg to calm down. It took about 45 minutes so I'll do that as often as I can and compare times. I know that just 5 days ago, before I quit, it would have taken much longer and have been more painful. It's quite useful this strange oxygen stuff.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
