  1. When I quit in 1997 I had the occasional smoking dream and felt really disappointed with myself during the dream and a great sense of relief when I woke up. I haven't had any with this quit although it's worth remembering that we all dream every night but we have to wake up during them to remember. So, we may dream about them every night but just don't realise it. If I do have any more dreams about them that I remember, I'm going to take it as a warning that I may be thinking about them subconsciously during the day. My first quit all those years ago served to remind me not to be complacent at any time. I don't think I realised back then that an addiction is for life, it just gets pushed further and further back in our minds as time passes.
  2. Does anyone ever do a non-religious food fast for a day or two? I do now and again as I am today. I've read it is good for a normally healthy body now and again. I usually do if I've pigged out the previous day. I still drink my normal 10 100 coffees during the day. That reminds me, I've recently started using a coffee creamer with them and it's rapidly becoming a must when I make one. It can't be good for the body because it tastes too good to be healthy.
  3. You've overcome one of the most powerful triggers to lighting up again. A similar thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago and thankfully I came through it as you did. You've earned this:
  4. Another welcome and congratulations. There re a lot of little things you can do to help with the craving but the main one is getting the right mind set. You have to be determined as you have so far. I found that those little strong mints and liquorice tablets helped me early on. I think it's a good motivator to get a ticker going. It's great to see how many cancer sticks you've avoided and money saved as you navigate your way to better health and freedom. Has anyone above mentioned the jillar air cigarette? That seems to work wonders for many on here.

  9. I did have an omelette, comprising of: The contents of a fresh carton of Chinese stir fry veg from Aldi. There was all sorts of stuff in that. Some pre - grated broccoli also from Aldi. It's really small pieces, each about the size of a grain of rice. Onions. Tomatoes. Chicken. Oh, and five eggs. It was so big, I couldn't flip it properly so it was a bit mushed up, but delicious. I told you I put a lot of stuff in them!
  10. Have I been too generous? I'm such a pushover.
  11. Well done and as a reward you can have one of these and a bag of nuts (small bag).

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
