  17. After being quit for over 2 years, I had a "slip". I think I smoked about 5 cigarettes on the slip day. Then the next day, I bought a pack. I smoked it over the course of several days. Then I didn't smoke for a couple of weeks. It was on my mind though and I ended up slowly going back to my pack a day routine. It took me over a year and a half to quit again. Slipping puts you on a very slippery slope. Avoid it at all costs!

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
