Wow. Looks great. You are a special mom. If prizes are to be had, I am sure it will be 1st prize.

I did a real workout today. Took my dad to three doctor's appointments. I got him in the transport chair and had an appointment on the 4th floor, 1st floor and then 3rd floor. Then we had to go for an x ray and blood work, which is clear across the other side of the building. I was moving at such a good clip, dad was laughing and holding on for dear life. I think he thought I was going to hit a bump and he would go flying. Safely got him home and then went off to the gym. I did 45 minutes on the treadmill, 20 on the rowing machine and 30 on the bike. Have to get in shape. I know that Spring is around the corner!

Oh my goodness Boo. I love this. Another one to add to my Fridge and apply to my life. Opah, I know you have so many worries on your plate. Just take one day at a time. Things do have a way of falling into place. Don't let these worries ruin your wonderful quit.

close to two months still having some sudden urges
Mee replied to Opah's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Opah, we all hate those times in life that we have lost all control. As difficult as those periods were hard to go through, they always make you grow and were changes that were meant to be. I think you have a wonderful attitude and it will carry you through this. You have a hug from me too. Hang in there. -
I think it is very sad. He mesmerized young children. I remembered my son loving him and trying to moonwalk all over the house. He was very talented but I believe he was very troubled and strange. That is a good take on that song Jo.

Isn't the thought of death enough to make people quit?
Mee replied to JB 883's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
The fact is the addiction always over road what the consequences were going to be. I feared dying from smoking but also feared not smoking. It wasn't until some kindhearted, caring people stood beside me and guided me to the other side. I never thought I was strong enough to do it. They showed me differently. For that I will always be grateful and hope that I can help others. -
Do you remember your life before cigarettes?
Mee replied to Icanhike's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Kids today do not know what it is like to play in the mud or use their imaginations. -
Togetherness is wonderful. Congratulations on you and your wife quitting. May you enjoy many more wonderful years together!

Do you remember your life before cigarettes?
Mee replied to Icanhike's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
I had three brothers to keep up with. We climbed trees, caught poly wogs in the creek near our home and made forts. All the kids in the neighborhood played together. I never saw that kind of togetherness in any neighborhood after my childhood. I did not start until I was 18. I had a very strict upbringing and would not dare defy my parents. My smoking was me busting into adulthood. I still can feel that moment I coughed through my first cigarette and felt so cool. I am sure I looked very foolish. -
That says it all about the addiction. We smoke even with the scare of death. I actually smoked through radiation for breast cancer. Now that I have quit, I just shudder to think about how foolish that was. I am so grateful to be a nonsmoker!

My pancakes are crepes and my husband makes the best. My grand kids will always appear when Papa is making his crepes. They like theirs with cinnamon and sugar. I like them with strawberries. Is that lemon and powder sugar that I see in that picture. That actually looks wonderful. I have never heard of that and will look forward to trying it. Jo, we really need to do a poll on a favorite diet food. These quit smoking pounds are driving me crazy!!!!!

I was so ashamed of my smoking. That personal integrity you feel will grow with your quit. You are doing great. You can do this.

Yes there are health benefits but there is also an unbelievable feeling of confidence. I look forward to cheering you through your journey. We are all here for you!
