  1. Well this conversation takes me back to one of my life's most innocent and embarrassing moments. Was definitely in my younger years when gas stations quit having attendants pump your gas. I did not realize that there were different size holes for the gas tanks (leaded and unleaded). I proudly pulled into the crowded station and tried to start fueling but the nozzle would not fit. I yelled across the station, to the owner, "Sir, your thingy won't fit into my hole." Being the slow bear that I am, I did not realize why everyone was laughing. Some kind soul did come over and explain the difference.

9 Yes we did. It was 73 degrees today but the wind was wild. Tonight we got the storms. Tornadoes were just south of us. We have really had many days with 60 mile an hour winds. It is very eerie.

15 So glad there is another lady out there. I thought I was going to have to wake up Doreen. These sticks get pretty cocky at night!

  15. Desperate1, I am so glad you are back and ready to quit again. You really can do this. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit. There is something special about this forum. They will guide you through the difficult days. Stay close to the forum, make that pledge not to smoke and hang tough. The first month is the most difficult but then it is a matter of changing your thinking. I promise you will be gaining much more than you are giving up.
  16. Welcome desperate1. Congratulations on starting your quit. I hope you read all the wonderful information on this forum and take time to introduce yourself. Know we are here to guide you on your journey. I am a newbie working towards my 8th month. This is the best thing you can do for your life.
  17. Nope
  18. Whispers, I am always so impressed with your runs. Hope your weather was as nice as ours. We hit 73 degrees. I really need one of these meters. I walked quite a distance today and I really think it should be doubled cause I walked against the wind. It was beautiful outside but quite windy.
  19. You, dear man forgot to tweak your picture.
  20. Well, first of all, he is a jerk (excuse me). Some people get joy out of making you feel smaller than you are. He should have been encouraging you for your efforts. Lilly don't let anyone bring you down. Remember, you are running that marathon and doing this for yourself and not anyone else. Stay focused on the forum. We know what you are experiencing. There is nothing wrong with using NRT to attain your goal. Hang tough. I know you will make it.
  21. Maryland Quitter and Rixcz, Jenny Babs, Nicole and Doreen. Thank you for all you have done. You have truly given me an opportunity to change my life. I so admire your dedication and time that it took to put this forum together and keeping it running. I will forever be one of you faithful followers. It is a wonderful feeling to watch people jump on the train and make it.
  22. Can I ask a question too? How does this forum come together? Who supports it? Does it take any financing to exist? How does it just end one day? Who is the little guy that worked on the site the one day? I would be devastated if all my new found friends and supporters just disappeared into computer land, so I kind of would like to know what it takes to keep it going.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
