  1. Boo, I am a little old for pole dancing. Maybe even Sex lol. My only hope is hitting the pavement. Isn't it you that says move a muscle change a thought. I like your sleep idea. I get a lot more of that these days. I love naps. You are an inspiration. I love reading you workouts!
  2. Well what did you get. After all the aggravation, I bet it was fun to buy a new car. Is it big enough to get all us ladies from the retirement park to all the fun spots? If not, don't worry. I have a Sienna Van.
  3. Yes it is, but it still is not enough to make me want to go back to smoking. I seem to crave different things since I quit. I never was a snacker but find I am hooked on Cheetos. Maybe that is because of the improvement in taste after quitting. The will power we used to put down the cigarettes was immense. We should be able to apply that to food. I am at my heaviest weight and am quite embarrassed about it. Yes peeps. We need a thread to get us going. Maybe we could have a celebration thread for losing weight.
  4. I am right there with you P and P. I am approaching 8 mos smoke free and have gained approximately 25 pounds since I quit. I keep telling my self that, if I could quit smoking, I could quit the unnecessary eating. I have joined a gym but pushing myself out is a definite chore. I was hoping my energy level would improve when I quit, but it has not. My self esteem has also taken a hit. I am 64 years and losing weight is not easy. Spring is almost here. I am hoping to get out walking then.
  5. I did a book club with my grand daughter, when she was young. We would both read the same book and write each other letters talking about it. Loved it when she was in elementary school but when she became a teenager, she liked all those vampire books. Faithful grandma read them all and now I have a treasure trove of fun letters to read from my grand daughter.
  6. Nope
  7. We need to get this guy fixed. I would miss him dearly!
  8. Lilly, all those feelings are normal. It is like your clawing to get to the other side. There was about three weeks, during my quit, I did not think my husband would survive me. Just know if you can keep going, it gets better each day. Just keep hanging tough. Don't not post. We all understand because we have been there. I often found the humor on the forum got me through. Give us the chance to help you through or make your smile.
  9. What a cutie. I also love the ears. Looks like he found a spot in a sunbeam. Nothing like loving an animal.

I am right behind you. Just around the corner for me. We could always chuck the husbands, move in together and have a blast. lol
  14. Oh Doreen, you are such a rock. Not only do you care for all of us, you are caring for your husband. I am familiar with what you are going through, our neighbor, living across the street, has the vascular dementia. He also was a smoker, had lung cancer, went through radiation and then was diagnosed with the vascular dementia. I so wish I lived close that I could be there for you. Know that we are here to offer our prayers and be here to listen. I so admire your strength and have been so honored to have you help me along my journey. Much love to you, Linda

  16. Congratulations Tammy.
  17. Way to go deperate1. If you can make it 7 days, the rest will easier. As you keep moving forward, your power and self esteem will keep growing. Keep that great quit going!

    Solo

Hi Solo. I also was a 40 year smoker and was able to quit with the help of the people on this forum. You are over the worst few weeks and now you just need to retrain you addictive thinking. l hope you will stay close and read as much as you can. It helps to read the blogs of others who have taken this journey. We have a wonderful group of people here, dedicated to helping others finally free themselves of this terrible addiction.

  22. My news here says they are evacuating 2000 people because it is going to make landfall. Know that I am worrying and praying it does not. From the description, a cyclone is worse than a hurricane. Please be safe.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
