  1. Now I know you are superwoman. You work, iron and hang your wash on the line. Please don't tell me you use a rock to wash the clothes on. I could not imagine working and doing all you do. They keep talking about going to those type of school schedules here. I would not have made it driving school bus if we didn't have the 3 months off in the summer.

Okay, I am pretty proud of my pots this year. I plant them all myself. I'll even give you a full frontal view because I perfectly coiffure the bushes, just finished mulching and straightening my bricks. It is amazing how much more time you have when you don't have to keep stopping for a smoke!
  3. I planned many times to quit. I planned and made an appointment with a hypnotist and that plan failed. I planned and made an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic for their smoking cessation and went to one appointment - that plan failed. I planned to quit this day and planned to quit that day. I would buy the patches and would use half before returning to smoking. I even tried the gum. When I found the forum, I started reading and decided that I wanted to be a part of this group. I just stopped. My only plan now is to continue smoke free. I do not know what the magic formula of this forum is. I did start to have a high regard for the people fighting to save lives. I wanted to give them success. I could not let them down.
  4. You would think the uniforms come in wrinkle free. She is still in school. All the kids are on summer break here in the US I try to stand next to the dryer and hang them as they are still tumbling. I also have a steam setting on my dryer that helps.
  5. Plain and simple I had no plan. I was fortunate enough to find the forum and do it with support. I think the biggest part of quitting is realizing that it is possible and everyone has the power within to do it. I would advise your friend to do the homework and read all the information available here. Hopefully it will help ease her into the process needed to quit.
  6. Nope
  7. OMG. I was not expecting that.
  8. I tried that also before I found the forum. I thought they were just air and no nicotine. The Juule they have been advertising on t.v. makes it sound like you would be quitting if you use it.
  9. Lilly just moved back to wherever her home was. That was a week or two ago. She said she would be out of touch. She seemed to be finally grasping her quit. Hoping the best for her.
  10. Well that is what it looked like. That is awful. I can not see where anyone would think that is better than smoking.
  11. I have gone by people in cars that I thought were vaping. I can see this huge swirl of thick smoke (like a genie coming out of a bottle. I thought that is what vaping was. Am I wrong.
  12. Good job sticking to your quit. I am glad you had the power to throw them out. Cigarettes do nothing to serve you!
  13. You guys are stuck with me. I am still here.
  14. Nope for me!
  15. No help but the forum and cold turkey. Who is best to help an addict? Other addicts. They made me realize I was stronger than my crave. To me it felt like they were able to read between the lines and tap into who I really was. I had smoked for so many years, I had given up on myself. They helped me believe in myself. I am so grateful for their help and want to help others. So glad you have joined the group.
  16. Without people like you, that reach out and support others, I would not be quit. I tried everything from hypnosis to cessation clinics, patches and gum - nothing was successful until I found this forum and received the support of other quitters. They sure carried me across the thresh hold to freedom. Congratulations on you seven years of freedom. I am excited that you will be sharing your wisdom.
  17. You have really rocked this journey. Congrats MLMR
  18. Moonglyn, I love to plant and do yard work. I have all my pots planted and they are beautiful considering all the rain we have had. Have you introduced yourself. I love following new members and supporting them along the way. It looks like you have been quit two months. Glad to see you have joined the forum. it is a great place for support.
  19. Nope

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
