  8. I used to think I did not have the willpower to quit smoking. Every attempt, my thoughts would drift back to needing that cigarette and the excuses of why I could not quit. Last night, as I lay in bed, I could not get this word out of my mind. I realized that, over the past year, this word has really changed meaning for me. I always had the willpower to quit smoking, I just did not know how to do it. Stumbling across this forum was a life changer for me. We all have the power to change our lives for the better, but many times we do not feel we have the strength or "will" to do so. That has a lot to do with our self esteem. How can we not feel lowly about ourselves, when we are addicted to a behavior that is destroying ourselves. Know that you can change your life and , in my case, the meaning of this word. Now that I have quit smoking, I have the willpower to do anything I want. I have the willpower to stay in control of my life. What a wonderful feeling.
  9. Wow 19 years is a long life for a dog. Roark, you do reach a point where you can grieve without reaching for those cigarettes.
  10. Best Buds!
  11. Nope not today!
  12. Well Mightyboosh, some of us have gone through a terrible diagnosis and still smoked. I will admit that I was one of them. Fortunately I was given the opportunity to come to my senses and quit. So, give yourself a well deserved pat on the back for getting through week #1! The first week is the toughest.
  13. Okay, I had to google that and it is a spinach pie. My grand daughter would love to visit you. Those look better than the ones we made. I can almost smell your kitchen right now!
  14. That was a small ok Juan. How about a big OKAY! Don't give up quitting. You can do this. Just push through those craves and let's get this done. The further you get from smoking the more powerful your life becomes.

  16. Hey Jaunmartino2, ten days is pretty awesome. If you pushed through ten, you definitely can keep this quit going. After the first week, it is really just a mind thing and redirecting those craves. Stay close to the forum. We are here to support you.

  21. No event. Just tradition. My husband was raised Lebanese and his mom taught us how to make them. We have had meat pie making days with our grand kids. They still love to get together to make them and have plenty to take home with them. You would be welcome to join us anytime. They taste as good as they look.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
