And you will end up here longer than a year. You will come to love us all and not be able to live without us.

Aw Geez. I thought all those people were complimenting my driving. Do you think my husband knows that. I always tell him that I am the better driver because I get so many thumbs up. Look out @Boo I am headed your way!

Doing great Viv. As you power through each day, you become more powerful and strong. Be proud of yourself.

Welcome Viianne! You will be so glad you found this place. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit until I came across this forum. The people here literally held me up and carried me across the finish line. They all knew what I needed and made sure I knew I had the power to quit! Overcoming this addiction is such a life changing experience. So glad you decided not to prolong your quit. It is best to just get that quit going! Stay close and post often. We will all be here for you.

Congratulations on your new job. I am surprised they can test for nicotine and deny you a job because you smoke.

Welcome Ray. You have landed in the right place for help. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit. Found this forum and I am now over a year quit. You will find lots of information and support. It amazed me how simple it really was. Yes there is usually a hell week but the rest is just a matter of redirecting those thoughts. Stay focused, educate yourself and post often. We are here to guide you through.

Great job of beating the crave. Depression was a difficulty for me with my quit. I spoke with my doctor and she increased my medication. Birch, I promise your feelings will get better. As your quit becomes more solid, you will feel more powerful. Now that I look back, I really think I was more depressed smoking. I was so disappointed that I could not quit. Finding success, with the support of the forum, has been such an awesome thing. You are going to get there too. Hang in there!

So sorry for your loss catlover. Goodness, 16 years was a long life. Our pets are so special and leave such a hole when they are gone. I am sure you will give another kitty a home full of love!

Welcome back tony. Congratulations on finally quitting. Unfortunately the first week is the toughest and you just need to stay focused on the prize - a smoke free life. I just would deep breath and concentrate on the clean air going in and out. You can try jillar's air cigarette to distract you. I promise that each day gets better and you become more powerful as you take back you life from this addiction. Try and stay close and shout out if you need help. We are here to guide you. Hang in there!

Juan, if you give into the crave you are right back where you started. You are past hell week. Now is the time you redirect those thoughts. You can do this!
