Congratulations HeatherDianne. Isn't it an awesome feeling. Know that you will continue to get more power in your quit. Just keep thinking how wonderful it is to not be chained to those death sticks. Your quit is still pretty young, but eventually these situations will not bother your.

Thursday, November 28th is Thanksgiving in the United States. For all of you that are celebrating, have a wonderful day. Today, I would like to reflect on one of the things I am most grateful for. The love and support of my quittrain friends. Without you, I would not be enjoying this day smoke free. I feel very blessed to have you all in my life!

Keeping Your Quit During the Holiday Season

That says it all for me too! -
Resting my feet after baking all afternoon. These are my specialties and what Grandma is good for. Lemon Sponge pie and my homemade sweet rolls. Thank goodness the electricity held out until I was done. We have gale force winds and the electricity has been flickering all evening.

Well I hope the planes will be able to take off. Be safe!

Have a wonderful trip and Thanksgiving. Hope you are safe. The weather is suppose to be bad across the states. We have cyclone force winds right now.

My children got me Alexa for Christmas. She is the lady in the box that plays music for me. My husband hooked the lights in the house up to her so all you have to say is "Alexa turn the light on", in whatever room you are in. My husband just asked her to turn the lights on and she responded in a way too pleasant tone "sure". I am thinking that, when my husband retires next month, he is going to like Alexa much better than me. After 42 years of marriage, I don't think I can change my tone of voice at this point.

No I don't understand. I do not want to see a quitter become discouraged I choose to guide and help support quitters along the way. As far as I am concerned, Vivianne acknowledged that she relapsed. Barney, not everyone finds it as EZPZ as you.

Nope!

I disagree with Barney also. I think he means well but is a tough advocate. I keep wanting to remind him that purple dinosaur is suppose to be nicer.

Vivianne, that was a very traumatizing accident. It will take a while to get over. Know that smoking does nothing to help. You will get through this!
-
Oh Vivianne, I am so sorry about your accident. Isn't it amazing how quickly it happens and how shocking it is. I am so thankful you and your daughter are okay. There are so many distracted drivers now a days. I am so glad you hopped right back on the train. You have had such an awesome quit. Take care

Nicotine replacement instead of a cigarette
Mee replied to lartomar2002's topic in Quit Smoking Discussions
Hello lartomer and welcome to the forum. I smoked for 42 years and did not think I could quit. I tried many different methods to quit, including NRT's. I came across this forum and, with the help of the members here, I was able to quit cold turkey. No matter how you quit, there is a period of discomfort. The first weeks is the toughest. Once the nicotine is out of your system, then you redirect you thinking. Why don't you hang around and educate yourself about your addiction. Stay close to the forum and get to know us. We are a very supportive group of people, who have been where you are and weathered our way through. We want to help you. -
Nope not me!

@forestgreen that sounds so devastating. So glad you are safe. It will take years for the vegetation to grow back. I could not imagine living through this.

My husband was always proud of his. He said he earned every one in the process of raising his family. Don't worry Boo, men look distinguished with that salt and pepper look.

Hi Christa! You and I traveled the journey together. I am so glad you are still smoke free. I love being free of smoking and have no thoughts of smoking. Happy Holidays to you also!
