  1. It is so much better to just stop the nicotine. Shame on your caregiver! It only takes a couple of days to rid your body of nicotine. You have the right idea of going for a walk. The first couple of days may be tough but are so worth saying goodbye to the nicotine. Just keep yourself focused on the end result and you will be able to do this.

  10. So sorry @joe bossio. Many of us ignored the possible results of our addiction. Hopefully your friend will be able to recoup what he has lost.

  17. DeadlyChicken, I did not feel great in the beginning. It does take your body some time to adjust. I was very tired in the beginning so I took naps. That helped getting through the difficult time. Remember your addiction is trying to rear it's head in anyway possible. Be proud you have made it this far. Keep looking forward. I promise you will start to feel better soon.

  20. We are getting old. If we go too small, we have a hard time getting in and out. The Rav4 isn't that big. We love ours. It is our second one. Our first one lasted for 15 years and we traded in on the new one. It had 280 thousand miles on it. I think the Sienna is too big. I drive it and think about trading it in on a smaller car.
  21. We love our Toyotas. We have the Rav4 and Sienna van. I like the white one you have there!
  22. One week is big!!!!! Be proud of yourself. No more nicotine in you system. The rest of the journey is just redirecting those smoking thoughts. You can do this!
  23. It is so much fun to look for a new car. Do you know what you want to get?
  24. This has not been fun. I get my flu shot every year and always wipe my cart off at the grocery store. Someone must have sneezed my way. The sore throat that comes with this, is worse than the ones I got when my kids would bring strep home! Went to the doctor yesterday and she said it is going around and expect to be sick for nine days. At least my husband is retired now and has taken good care of me!
  25. I am nursing some virus that is going around. Been down for the count six days now!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
