  7. Samantha&Dynah, smoking feeds into that anxiety and does not help. Every time you give into the crave, you are feeding your addiction. You can power through by staying busy and concentrating on the rewards of quitting. Everyday without a cigarette gives you more power over you life! Stay strong!
  8. Just watched the news and this made me so angry! Teen items used to disguise vaping utensils! The fricken tassels on the ends of their sweatshirt hoods, pens and watches! Every time I see a teen with this huge, thick smoke coming out of their mouths, I cannot believe that there are not laws preventing this. 10. That has got to be the only thing good about riding those trains Jo. That view is so well deserved and peaceful after the hassle you go through to ride the trains!
  11. How encouraging is that. You go cells!!!!!!!
  12. Wow. I thought $6.00 in Ohio was expensive. When I started smoking they were 75 cents a pack. $35.00 is definitely a sad price to pay for addiction!
  13. Congratulations Reci. Three years is awesome. Am sure missing that pig. Hope you are feeling you old self soon!
  14. SamDy, the little bit of discomfort you will experience while quitting, is nothing compared to the smoking related illnesses you could experience. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit. The wonderful support here showed me that I had the power to do it. When you get that urge to smoke, close yours and breath deep CLEAN AIR. Imagine your body starting to heal. Stay close to the forum and post an SOS if you need us. You can do this!
  15. SamDy, NO EXCUSES! We would not make fun of you. Our wish is for you to be able to quit. We are here to support you. The first week of quitting is tough but doable. Once you get the nicotine out of your system, it is a matter of redirecting your thoughts. I loved that you posted your digital art and think that is a great way to stay busy. You need to start again right away. I promise you, your life will get so much better when smoking is off the table!
  16. So glad you are slowly recovering Cbdave. We were all in la la land when we smoked (nothing is going to happen to me) After quitting, you are living in reality. Each and every one of us hope that we will not have to face medical issues. I do find that, now that I am quit, I want to live the best, healthiest life.

  19. Awesome @NOPEster! You should be proud. What a wonderful quit! NOPE for me too!
  20. @DeadlyChicken, I felt very tired the first couple of months but welcomed being able to sleep through some of the quitting. If you don't start feeling better, you might get checked by the doctor. It might help to make sure something else is not going on. In the meantime, hang in there because things will improve. Try to envision your body healing during the quitting process.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
