  2. @AndrewAsh great to hear! Every day you will get stronger.

  4. tony950, if you can just ride out a couple of days, the nicotine will be out of your system and then it is just a matter of redirecting those thoughts. I smoked for 42 years and never thought I could quit. This forum was the boost I needed. Looking back, I can not believe how easy it really was. It is the addiction that is calling you to smoke. You have the power to control that addiction. Be strong!
  5. Nah! I think she is partying!
  6. Well @BAT you could put your Bat Suit on and fly over and help Cbdave!

  8. AndrewAsh, I have had panic disorder for many years and the best way to get over a panic attack is with distraction. My favorite way is by holding your nose and singing the silliest song you know. Then, all of a sudden, you realize how silly you look and can't help but laugh at yourself. Seriously, it is difficult to believe a panic attack is nothing, when your body seems to be doing these scary things. I do think yours will subside soon. You have been using nicotine gum and it will take a couple of days to get the nicotine out of your system. If not, check with your doctor. There is medication that helps panic. The beginning of a quit can be very scary and most of us panicked at the thought of not having our nicotine fix. Every day without, you get stronger and more powerful. When you realize, you do not need cigarettes anymore, you will look back and marvel at how easy it really was. Never be afraid to post any of you feeling or symptoms. There is always someone here to connect with your feelings. I so enjoyed the humor on the forum. It got me through some of the most difficult days. Keep rocking that quit!

  10. Welcome back Sailor. Sounds like you are on the road to freedom! You and your wife are giving each other a wonderful gift. Those saved dollars are really going to add up.

  12. Unfortunately, my husband just retired and has much more time on his hands. I am thinking he needs a new toy!
  13. Joe, now that you are quitting , concentrate on your body healing. Every time I would get a crave, I would breath in that fresh air and think of my lungs healing. Keep looking forward and don't look back!
  14. Congratulations AndrewAsh on quitting. You are almost through the worst so throw that pack away! You do not need it anymore. When you start to feel panicky, close your eyes and breath that clean fresh air. The sooner the nicotine is out of the system, the better. Stay close to the forum and educate yourself. You can do this! I would also like to tell you to throw that Apple watch away. I got one for my husband for Christmas and he keeps giving me minute to minute updates on everything his body is doing. It is really driving me nuts!

  18. Feeling comfortable with him is important. When I did the pink ribbon thing, I chose a doctor that was 79 years old. He was so down earth and explained everything. I really trusted him. I am so glad you are confident with him. Now you have to concentrate on getting better!
  19. @jillar I am glad it went well and can understand you being nervous. It will get better. Maybe you should get a couple of opinions. You do want the best care.
  20. Be safe foretgreen. That sounds so unnerving!

hellkatbaby, Rotties can be such big lovable babies. I bet he is the best medicine for you. My son has a friend that owns a pet store and he grows them to him. He does not sell them online. I love the haircut. I wear mine short and similar. It cracks me up that gray is in now. I have been coloring mine for a while. Once I went short, I never went back. It is easy to take care of though. I bet you would look beautiful with any style!

hellkatbaby, he is adorable. Is he a Rottweiler? Fish tanks are a great hobby. There is one at my doctors' office and I find it to be so relaxing. My son is also into them and actually grows the plants to sell. Be prepared, that hair may come in curly. My friend had that happen after treatments. I am so glad to hear you are doing so well. It is amazing the new medical treatments they have. You are doing so great. Stay strong and keep healing.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
