  1. Well hello LadyDraga. This place did the trick for me. I had smoked for 42 years and attempted every quit method before landing on the forum. There is so much information, support, fun and friendship. Stay close and we will be here for you. Two weeks is great. Now that the nicotine is out of your system, it is just a matter of redirecting those thoughts. You can do this!

  6. I remember the dread. You have to realize it is like grieving a friend. That cigarette was there by your side for a long time. Realize it has never been your friend. Your addiction wants to be noticed. Keep your mind focused on quitting. Breath deep and imagine your body healing. I promise it will improve each day.

  8. I am still making masks but in between I am crafting. I made these t-shirts for my son and grand kids for when this is all over. I also made this sign to put in the front yard. I have a cutting machine and have been trying the adhesive vinyl and heat transfer vinyl. For the heart sign, I used a big 17/17 inch tile. There is a lady in our community that is going around at night and hanging hearts all over the community. I made her the second shirt pictured here as a thank you.
  9. Welcome and Congratulations Amierouge. Two weeks quit is pretty awesome. Now that smoking is behind you, keep looking ahead. As your quit continues to build, you will feel the wonderful benefits!

  11. As you travel this quit journey, you are going to find how strong you truly are. Smoking has never helped with your anxiety but only added to it. If you like sports and exercise, you will be amazed at how much more energetic you are. There are only benefits in quitting. Keep going. You can do it!
  12. Yes dullyboi. It is common to feel anxious but that is the nicotine addiction calling you. If you feed it, you will be right back starting over. 4 days quit is awesome and something to be proud of. It does get better each day. Talk to your physician and see if he can prescribe something to help. When I was quitting, I would close my eyes and take deep breaths imagining my lungs healing. Stay close to the forum and reach out as you need us. We are here to help.
  13. My daughter loved Stephen King. When we went to Maine, we took her to see his home and fence. We then took her to a book store in Bangor, Maine and she bought an autographed copy of one of his books. One of our best trips.
  14. Welcome. Lordy. So glad you have found us and the courage to quit. 12 days quit is awesome. Stay close to the forum and get to know us. We are here to help guide you on this journey.

  19. Hi Guttie39. I am so glad you found us. This is a great place for support in quitting smoking. I smoked for 42 years and tried everything to help me quit and was finally able to with the help of friends here. It truly is easier that you think. Don't concentrate on that last cigarette. Just concentrate on breathing that clean fresh air. The first couple of days are a little tough but once the nicotine is out of your system, it is just a matter of redirecting your thinking. Stay close and shout out when you need us. You can do this!.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
