  2. J, I slept quite a bit, in the beginning. I actually welcomed it because it helped me through the tough beginning. I promise your energy will get better as your self esteem grows. I'm so sorry your daughter's plans were affected by the darn virus. I am sure the excitement of celebrating with her will give way to you feeling better. You are giving her the biggest gift by quitting smoking. You will be there to help her make many memories in her new life! Hang in there J. You are doing great!

  9. One Thanksgiving, my son made Tofurkey. It was suppose to be a meatless version of turkey. That was my one and only experience with tofu.

  18. I am from Ohio. I know it seems tough to quit in stressful times but it is the best time. Quitting gives you so much power and self esteem. The people here become wonderful friends and are here to support you through the down days.
  19. J863 you do have that resolve. You just have to keep your mind on the prize (quitting smoking). You are concentrating on that cigarette you haven't had. Five days is a huge accomplishment and you should be very proud. That addiction is going to work on your self esteem trying to break you. I am sure you have more of your grandfather in you than you think. You can do this. Without realizing it, one day you will wake up and realize you no longer need a cigarette. Just keep that quit going.

  22. Congratulations Mona. I thought the first month was the toughest. Now just keep looking ahead and don't look back. Every day you get stronger. Keep that quit going.

  24. Jeff, we are close in the same periods of our life. I have been retired for three years and my husband retired this year. Being able to finally quit has really given me hope that we are going to enjoy our retirement and hopefully not dealing with health issues. It also feels good not wasting money on something that was killing me but spending it on travelling. There are so many positives to quitting. You can do it and stay quit.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
