  1. @reciprocity It looks beautiful. I can't believe it is still warm up there. I bet she is a real beauty (your daughter - not the boat)!
  2. So sorry to see this Margee, I thought you fit in fine. Hope you decide to try again.
  3. Because in your mind, you are not ready to accept the reality of the consecequences of your addiction. Unfortunately, many of us chose to ignore the reality of what smoking was doing and smoked for way to many years. We are now experiencing the consequences of our addiction. I smoked for 42 years thinking the benefits outwayed the consequences. The older I became, the fear, shame and health issues all became too real. The only thing the members of this forum want, is the opportunity to save another person from the consequences of smoking. Stick around and get to know us. There is wonderful friendship and lots of help here!
  4. Margee, there is not hope necessary because you CAN do this. I am sending some strength and kindness. Know that we are here to help guide you on this journey. Now is the time to just keep looking forward to a life free of nicotine.

Welcome Bope. Congratulations on 30 days quit. You have already gone through hell week and are well on your way to a solid quit! I would give yourself more time on these issues, but if they persist, see your physician. We abused our bodies with smoking for many years and it does take time to adjust. Stay close to the forum and educate yourself about your addiction. We are here to guide your through his journey. You can do this!
  6. Welcome Margee. So glad you found us and have decided to quit. This forum was the miracle for me. I also smoked for over 40 years and quit when I retired. I so wanted to enjoy retirement with my husband and not have to deal with health issues. I have been quit for two years now and am hoping my body continues to heal from all the years of smoking. Hang close to the forum and get to know all the friends here; educate yourself and play some games. Quitting is just a matter of stopping and redirecting those thoughts that encourage you to smoke. You can do this!

  15. Don't concentrate on the idea of gaining weight. I used that as an excuse to put quitting off for many years. Concentrate on the fact that you will be gaining life. Not onlly will you be extending your life, but you will find yourself taking a more active part in life. That makes it easier to shed any unwanted quitting pounds!

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
