  1. He wasn't on ours in Ohio. Matter of fact, you had way more to choose from. We only had four. Can't wait until it is over. My husband and I did our a week ago. We did not mail them, we drove them right to the Board of Elections drop box. Way to go for voting!
  2. I am so excited! I found Doreen's Christmas present. Can you see her sitting on this throne! Anyone want to go in with me?
  3. This too will pass. Your addiction will always be there and moments of weakness do happen occassionally! You have made it this far and are strong enough to keep going! Take a deep breath and concentrate on how your body is healing. Wow Betterbreathing, 95 days is awesome. Keep that wonderful quit going!!!!!

    SOS help

Linda, you've got this now. You posted an SOS instead of smoking. That cigarette does nothing to serve you. Take a deep breath and face your challenges with your new found strength!
  8. Our babies waiting for Mom and Dad to come back to the R.V.
  9. You can do this Christine. You will get stronger and more powerful each day without smoking. Stay close to the forum. We are here to cheer you on!
  10. I think my mom would take the bags off the maids carts in the hotel/motels when they would travel. They don't have a landfill big enough for all the rolls of bags she has in her home. We can only hope they don't outlaw plastic bags before we need to clean out her home. My mom and dad are in their ninties! Most of the time, when the elderly have to leave the comfort of their homes, their health really suffers. I hope your mom can adjust Reci. This has to be a tough move during the pandemic.
  11. I did not know you were there to clean out your mom's home. That is an emotional job that stirs up all kinds of memories.. Is that the view she had from her home? What a beautiful and peaceful scene.
  12. Welcome Matt. Congratulations on your 89 day quit. You really have gotten through the worst on your own (getting that nicotine out of your system). The next part you just have to redirect those junkie thoughts. Giving in during stressful times, ony leads to more stress and disappointment. Stay close to the forum and get to know us. We have been where your are and want you to know YOU CAN DO THIS!
  13. Keep that marvelous quit going. You can do this Linda!
  14. I was raised in a very strict family, never going against the grain and having little worldy experience. I graduated from high school on a Friday and started my first job the next monday, in the big city. The minute I stepped off the city bus, you could see the niavety oozing from me. I felt so adult and excited about navigating this new world. When I would take my lunch break, I would look around and wonder what it would take to be accepted into this new world. I don't know why seeing people smoke was so alluring to me. To this day, I remember buying that first pack and choking through the first cigarette. Of course it became and addiction and led me to a man that smoked. He quit early in our marriage, but never hassled me to quit. I continued to smoke for 42 years. If I hadn't have stumbled across this forum, I would probably still be smoking. Don't ever feel that it is too late or you can't do it. Freedom is wonderful!
  15. 24 hours is awesome. Take time to celebrate it. Yes, the first week is tough but hang close to the forum, play some games and get to know us. We have all been where you are and we want to help you along this journey.. You do not have to wish your life away. Start living your life free of the ball and chain that smoking has been. Start saving the money gained by quitting. The more you look back and concentrate on that smoke you are not having, the harder it will be.
  16. You can do this Linda. The first week is the toughest but every day without a cigarette, you will become stronger. Don't concentrate on the last cigarette. Stay focused and keep moving forward on this wonderful journey.!
  17. So glad you have decided to quit. This is a great place for support. You can do this Christine.
  18. Linda, you definitely have my prayers for good results. As for quitting, YOU CAN DO THIS. Keep your mind focused on the prize - a life free of smoking.
  19. Nope!
  20. @kathleen0515 You are very fortunate for ealy detection and that the medical field is much more advanced in treating lung cancer. Know that I will be praying for you. I never knew about the low dose ct scan and will discuss it with my physician. Please let us know how your are doing.
  21. We love hearing about your awesome quit. You should be very proud of your strength and determination!
  22. Oona, I am actually a Linda too. Lindas are special . Seriously, you are doing great. I promise you that you will get stronger. When I first quit, I would breath deep, close my eyes and try to picture my body healing. Keep focused ahead and don't look back. Yes the support here is important. I actually don't feel I would have ever quit, without them They guided me and carried me to that finish line. Be proud of yourself and always reach out when it gets tough.
  23. Have fun Reci!
  24. I am not strong enough. The longer I smoked, the more isolated and depressed I became. I was ashamed that I knew what smoking was doing to my health and could not stop. The truth is that your quit journey awakens the power within you. The strength and confidence I acquired not only improved my health but improved my outlook on life. I am stronger than the family drama, negative people and the addiction that I used as my comfort and friend.

About us

QuitTrain®, a quit smoking support community, was created by former smokers who have a deep desire to help people quit smoking and to help keep those quits intact.  This place should be a safe haven to escape the daily grind and focus on protecting our quits.  We don't believe that there is a "one size fits all" approach when it comes to quitting smoking.  Each of us has our own unique set of circumstances which contributes to how we go about quitting and more importantly, how we keep our quits.
