  1. Don't like either of them cooked but love them raw and in salads. Between the two, I like raw peas the best.
  2. Oh this is me right now. Sometimes I wonder who that person is. I can be pretty ornery some days but then I cut myself some slack. I kind of look at that meanness as a way to turbo charge me through the crave. At the end of the day I did not smoke and that is what counts.
  3. Hoping you weren't one of the casualties. Praying for all the families this will affect. Also praying things could still change their course. Nope for me!
  4. Just watched The Christmas Chronicles, with Kurt Russel, on Netflix. He made the cutest darn Santa. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Laughed, cried and just got into the Christmas mood.
  5. jillar, I think you should just go the next time. I have to say he is worse than my hubby. You must be a saint!
  6. I knew I should have shot for 7. He sounds so much like my husband.
  7. Do we hear 5 times! Aw we really know that they love us and can't live without us. They just don't realize how we can live without them for periods of time!

    Knew you were hot!
  9. You are lucky. My husband can't go to the corner store (5 min. away) without calling me for something. Husbands and cell phones can be a curse! You must be in nice weather for him to go camping. We wanted to take are RV to my nieces wedding on Dec. 7th but I think we will be pushing it. Enjoy your time!
  10. I can relate. I have two puppies. We have had many dogs but these two are a true challenge. Tis The Season ';
  11. I wish we could get rid of the cable service. It is the worst. My husband is checking into the streaming thing but we would still need the service for internet.
  12. Congratulations Jo! Celebrate your milestone - you deserve it. Thanks for all you do on this forum and for supporting me on my journey.

I feel like the bestest quit story ever. I was feeling like I was at the lowest point of my life. Not only have you encouraged me to get my life back, you have made me feel worthy of that life. I wish I could reach across the miles and hug you all.!
  14. I hate Walgreens. I use their drive thru to pick up my elderly parents meds. I ask the lady in the window what medication I am getting and she claims she cannot disclose that to me, even though she knows me and will be handing it through the window to me. I handle all my parents meds and they receive discounts so I want to know what I am paying for. This was the pharmacy I was at when I posted my SOS a while back. They drive me nuts!
  15. Wow. Very pretty. Lights do get me in the mood. Thanks for sharing.

Well, I am usually a slow bear at things and I really thought I would have to be put in a coma to quit. Boy you guys really got me thinking and guided me through it. I don't know what my attitude showed in my first posts but you all knew the words to keep my attention. Wow, next thing I knew I am almost 4 mos. I have no thoughts of not hanging around. Of course I am waiting for bakon to post a selfie lol.
  17. I agree Lilly. I try so hard to check things at the store. Now I shop for my parents too so it would take me forever to watch them at the store. The stores do not rotate their stock so the older items go first.
  18. Well Leon, I have never vaped but was a smoker for 42 years. I have googled vaping and, from what I read, vaping is not really a healthy alternative. There are particles that cause cancer and some of the flavors have toxins and chemicals in them. Seems to me you are trading one addiction for another. My suggestion to you would be to stop smoking and vaping altogether.

As I look back on my smoking days, big life hits of shock, unhappiness and difficult changes were always dealt with chain smoking events and hiding in my puff of smoke never changed one thing. It actually always made me feel lousier. Now that I am a nonsmoker, I think I finally experience true emotion when difficult things happen. I cry, I lean on the ones I love and have surrounded myself with authentic, true friendship. I believe my quit friends can guide me through anything. We are here for you MLMR and Doreen. Life is always going to be full of crappy things. Smoking does not have to be one of them!
  20. Hi Leon, If you are really serious about quitting smoking, this is the place to do it. There is so much information and support here. As said by others, you just have to stop. I can tell you it will be uncomfortable for a couple of weeks but then it is just a matter of redirecting your brain. I smoked for 42 years and tried many attempts to quit. I finally found the strength and support on this forum. You can do this. It is the best thing you can do for your life.
  21. Am definitely taking a lazy day today. Wanted you to know your orange/cranberry relish was such a hit. I think it topped grandma's sticky buns. Yes, my son wants to host Xmas also. Maybe this will be our new family tradition.
