My three girls love the snow. 20210220_130217.mp4

Linda, I promise you will get stronger every day. You are doing great. Breath deep and keep that wonderful quit going.
-
I was fearful of dying and so ashamed of smoking. My husband and I had both worked hard supporting our family and I wanted to experience our dreams in retirement together. I am now hopeful that I do not experience the consequences of my addiction and can add some wonderful years to my life!

Steven, our addiction chisels away at our self esteem and tries to make us believe we are unworthy of a smoke free life. Instead of giving in to this pattern of thinking, reach out for support. I am glad you are getting back to quitting. Know that you are stronger than your next crave. You can do this!

@Judi just keep concentrating on the positive. Your picture shows a beautiful confident woman. No matter how long you smoked, you have the power within you to quit. Look forward to enjoying the rest of your life free of the addiction.

I thought my amount seemed so small. Yes, I don't want to burn my money. I am having so much fun spending it!

The Judi you have known for 62 years is gone. That Judi was a smoker and you will no longer smoke. The Judi that will emerge at the end of your quit journey will be awesome. It is normal for your emotions to be all over the place. Your addiction is using every tool to get you to smoke again. Judy, I promise you will get stronger and these thoughts will become fewer. You have already made it this far, you can keep going. You've got this girl!

Welcome Ace! Your post is an excellent example for all us quitters to pay attention and realize that we will work on our quits forever. I am so glad you have found your way back and am sure you have the strength to quit again. Stay close and call out if you need us. You've got this!

Well, it looks like your post is fine. Hang tough Judi. Looking at your ticker, you have made it through the tough month. Once you get the nicotine out of your system, it is a matter of redirecting the smoking thoughts. Try to stay as busy as your can and just tell yourself you are not going there. You can do this. You will become stronger every day!

You did not say you were dealing with depression, I was just suggesting it might be a possibility. You sound very discouraged and down. Maybe there is someone here that you really connect with and could private message back and force. I just hate to see you go it alone. Quitting for me was like peeling an onion. By posting my feelings, others gently guided me to look deep inside to the awesome and strong person I was.

Thank goodness. Been needing some of that good ol' piggy humor!

Oh Linda, I think by leaving us, you are giving yourself permission to fail. Your depression may not just be connected to your smoking. You are dealing with a pandemic and isolation. Maybe you should see your physician about medication that may help balance that. I can guarantee that you will just sink deeper, if you fail. I am not ashamed to say that I have battled depression my entire life and quitting smoking was very difficult for me. I probably would not have made it through quitting if I hadn't found a doctor that prescribed the right medication. When you are down, you do not feel that you have the energy to do anything. What is great about the forum is that you are getting many different points of view. Take what is helpful and ignore the rest. We are trying to find the right words to help guide you through the tough spots. Linda, you have come so far. Don't make me come up there. I am right around the corner from you in Ohio. I have been looking for an excuse for a road trip. Hang in there! Keep telling yourself that "this too shall pass".

You can do this Linda. Redirect those thoughts. The nicotine is gone so now you work on change the mind. If all else fails, do what Cookie Monster says!
-
So happy for you Rozuki. We look forward to the continuation of your story. Safe travels to your new home!

And that is what it is all about! You are getting stronger than that crave. I hope you are celebrating and proud of yourself. Way to go Linda. Keep that beautiful quit going.

You two need to cut yourself some slack. The cigarette companies put the crap in their cigarettes that keep you addicted. I don't know where I read it, but they saying quitting smoking can be worse than quitting heroin. Most of us that smoked also relied on it as a comfort mechanism. I smoked for 42 years and have been quit for two years. You will reach a point where you will not be romancing smoking. Everyday you put it behind you, the stronger you become. Retirement is a time to enjoy life and not spend it dealing with health issues.

Yes it is vinyl. I have the Sillhoette machine. The vinyl you can get now is awesome. I have used the heat transfer on t-shirts and this is permanent vinyl.

I am a crazy crafter. It keeps me sane!

Just finished making these. I thought they were cute. I found a remote control light that is battery operated and an electric one with a remote. They can be set with 16 different colors or set to rotate the colors. I thought I could sell them to other campers and friends to fund some of our travels. They are made out of a simple paint bucket. camp lights.mp4
